Ha Giang loop moto tour with Toan (aka Tony) was by far the highlight of our Vietnam trip that Included Saigon, Hoi An and Hanoi. Yes, the Vietnamese food is to die for but this tour had an AMAZING guide who knew the loop like the back of his hand and kept us laughing safe and entertained the entire loop. As an “easy rider” sitting in back of a motorcycle you’ll see the most breathtaking valleys, quaint villages, and unforgettable landscapes of Northern Vietnam mountains. Who wants to just sit on a luxury boat overrun with tourists?? Toan is also the best photographer and will take the best pictures on your camera roll. Our two girls age 21 and 19 yo described the adventure as the best trip they’ve ever done. I highly recommend doing ha giang loop and make sure you request Toan as your guide. He will make this trip one of the best memories you’ll have of Vietnam.

Once in a lifetime experience!
The Ha Giang Loop itself includes stunning mountain landscapes and travel through many tiny ethnic villages - really just an unforgettable experience. And of course there are many many tour companies available for this tour. My wife and I decided to go with Nguyen Tours for two main reasons: we preferred a "private tour" (rather than being in one of the many motorcycle convoys we saw) and because I wanted to ride myself (my wife rode behind me; the guide on another bike). Hoang was our guide, and he was incredibly thoughtful, patient, and kind throughout. It was really nice to be on our own timetable - we could stop at any of the overlooks and rest as long as we wanted, or we could make a quick stop and then keep moving, depending on how we felt at the moment. We shared quite a few meals with him along the way and got to know him fairly well - and through our conversations with him we got to know a lot about the area, the culture, and the people.
I'm not sure I made the right choice to ride myself (rather than having a local ride with me just riding on the back) - on the one hand, I love riding a motorcycle (and I haven't ridden in decades). With all the ups and downs and twists and turns - plus in places the road is in *really* rough shape - just staying upright on the bike took most of my attention - that aspect of it was really enjoyable for me (but terrifying for my wife). So that was great, but the downside was that I wasn't as free to just look around and enjoy the scenery. If I had it all to do over again, I might decide to ride behind somebody instead. (Also, if I were to ride myself, I would make sure to have an international driver's license in advance - that would have saved some money and trouble.)
Along the way, we stayed in some really interesting and unique"homestays" (which seem to be basically privately operated B&B's) in picturesque places, and they really took good care of us.
All in all this was a *great* experience! Communication with the tour company was great, Hoang took such good care of us, and we had some unforgettable experiences. I started trying to talk my siblings into doing the same trip, and if I'm successful, I'll definitely try to arrange another tour with Huong!

Very glad I picked this Tour Operator. Wonderful experience !Excellent communication & attention to details from beginning to end. As older solo rider they made sure I got the right motorcycle for me. The Guide was excellent in setting a safe pace for my abilities & providing local knowledge as we went and looking after all travel details. Arranged meals were tasty and plentiful amount. Accommodations along way were a wonderful experience.

Wow wow wow - what an amazing experience with a wonderful company.
We did a 3 day 2 night stay, chosen predominantly because we didn’t want an overnight coach and this option allowed us to travel during the afternoon/ evening.
What we hadn’t expected was the high level of service and accommodation. It really was a VIP trip!
Thang & Huy were great English speakers, fabulous fun, safe drivers and very caring. My husband had an international bike licence so drove his own bike. I went on the back of Thang. We were joined by another couple.
I know there are much cheaper options out there, but when you see multiple groups of 30 or so bikes you are so pleased you choose a smaller tour.
Invest in this option - you won’t regret it!

My friend canceled in the last minutes because of urgent things to do. I think I will have a trip which dont have people to sharing the moments. But, I had a wonderful trip through the Ha Giang Loop with Thanh tour guide also nice friend. He took care and drove very safety, I felt comfortable, the food was good. Thanks from all my heart
It was the best trip in my life. The guide and motorcycle drivers are very professional and friendly. They have a reliable and new vehicles that very important in these mountains. Guys know the region very well and show the hidden places and villages that not allowed for another tourists. Every moment was organised ideally - on time, with enough comfort. We just chill and enjoyed the trip and landscapes. You’ll become friends with this team. We stayed in very cozy and comfortable places. Trip also can be adopted as you want - easier or more intense. The meal also was the best through all trip.
Just see my photos. We traveled with my wife and three friends. From Hanoi we were taken on the lux sleep bus company stop and meet near the hotel. We had a time for sleep, shower and prepare to trip.
I’m writing this report and want to repeat it again :) No doubt.

Ha Giang Trip
The best experience I've had so far. People on the street are quite friendly, you can always see smiles from them. We spent 3 days together, asking questions about the local people and visiting the homes of the H'mong people. My guide was Duc, he was friendly and took good care of us throughout the journey.
