We had a fabulous experience from the booking with Diana to the day with Manuel. Diana was helpful in choosing cities to visit and creating a great day for our group of two couples. Manuel was our driver and was wonderful- on time(even early) for our transfer Porto to Duoro Valley with stops. He was a safe driver and had recommendations for shopping/lunch spots in each town we visited. He even took photos of our group and sent on what’s app. Would recommend 100%!

Wonderful experience
Miguel was great. Friendly and super enjoyable experience. Born and raised in Porto and super knowledgeable about the area, as well as the Duoro and the way down to Lisbon. We loved our conversations with him. I don’t think he expects to chat through every ride with every rider but naturally, for us, it just happened and it was great. It was like hanging out with a buddy for a couple hours. A buddy who can tell you exactly where you are, some history behind each area and more. We couldn’t have had a better time in the Duoro and with Miguel as our driver/new friend.

Porto to Douro Valley
Paulo was prompt and patient with picking me up from Porto airport given my flight was delayed by an hour. He drove very safely late at night from Porto airport to my villa in Douro Valley. So safe that I felt very comfortable taking a nap in the backseat on the 1 1/2 hour journey. I would definitely book him again on my next trip.

★★★★★ Five Stars - An Exceptional Day in the Douro Valley
We booked this Douro Valley tour through Meridian4People, arranged by Mike McHugh at Dream Makers Vacation Services, and it was the highlight of our time in Porto.
Our guide, Alex, was outstanding from start to finish. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the region's history, wine-making traditions, and the Douro landscape, and he navigated the narrow, winding, hilly roads with impressive skill and confidence. It was clear Alex has cultivated genuine, longstanding relationships with the wineries and restaurants we visited — we were welcomed warmly everywhere we went and treated like honored guests rather than just another tour group.
Both winery visits were superb, and the lunch was a true taste of authentic Portuguese cuisine. Every detail of the day felt thoughtfully arranged, from the pacing to the personal touches Alex added along the way.
This was an exceptional, unforgettable day in the Douro Valley. Highly recommend this tour, and especially Alex as a guide — and many thanks to Mike McHugh and Dream Makers Vacation Services for putting together such a wonderful trip.
