The worst experience ever! Do not book the orchid suite, although it is spacious, you get to endure the engines, the squid fishing at night, workers out chatting and smoking, the garbage, linen, delivery vessels parked right underneath your windows, and the balcony is not as spacious as pictured in the advertisements. You are better off with a side cabin in the middle. Most important to note is that the ship only goes to three places (pick up location, drop off location for excursions, and overnight parking (from which you can actually see Halong), so if you book the 2 night 3 day as we did, know that you will be spending both days and nights parked among all the other ships, not as advertised is secluded areas. Totally false advertising!! I have pictures and video to show all, and will post them as well to show the “scam” we were sold. We did question it when we were on board, we were told that our rep was gone so we called the provider where we purchased the cruise, they were surprised, tried to assist, it in the end we were SOL. We were the ones to decide to that we wanted stay on board for the 3 days as we booked the Orchid Suite and would be seeing the tours offered by Orchid independently, and just wanted to relax on the ship, since we booked the luxury cabin for my birthday, and thought seeing the advertised stops from the ship were fine fore us. First day ok, people went off on their journeys using the shuttles while we stayed aboard. Our choice, and we enjoyed the hot tub etc… dinner was good, not great, and beware, they BEYOND try to upsell the wine with dinner by opening the menu to their most expensive bottles, so just flip through and find something in your budget, and do not forget conversion rates, I ended up paying over $200 (yes dollars) for a bottle of wine that was average, $30 in Canada, and I know this is Vietnam, so that is totally on me, I even encouraged them to let the apprentice open it it🙂 Second day is when the issues started. So after breakfast, we travelled all the way back to port, with stops on the way to pick up and then let off passengers, employees etc… then, we spent hours in port until the ship was replenished with 1 night, 2 day people, and headed back out to the same spot to let the shuttle take people to the tour same tour spots…. And waited some more… Yes, you heard this correctly, the 3 days 2 night cruise is NOTHING MORE THAN 2X the 1 night 2 day cruise - with the shuttle taking guest to ALL activities. To add insult to injury, on the second day (my birthday) after we figured out what was happening, and being the only customers (not treated like guests at all) when going to the lounge for lunch, I was told and escorted back to my room, while they did the greeting of the new guests, and would come and let us know when we could come back to the dinning room. FYI The staff are amazing, unfortunately it is management that throws them under the bus for company and management ineptitude instead of owning it. This post is long enough, will post another review of how they ruined my birthday (our second of three days on the ship) that was supposed to be the highlight of our 6 week trip through Vietnam. We did our research over months and months, and this has never been flagged… I only want to warn others, that in this case, Orchid Cruises failed - big time! We did ask specifically on the first night after dinner what the next days activities would be as we thought we would be going (with the ship and our luxury cabin) to the next location as we were on the 3 day, 2 night cruise only to be told old we were going back to the port for the next group for the 2 days 1 night…. Unless we went on the day excursion where they drop you off and pick you up by shuttle. Oh, and also, meals are exactly the same…. Same arrival buffet, same dinner, same breakfast… you get the idea Don’t do 3 day 2 night, and definitely don’t book the Orchid Suite - I would say don’t book Orchid - but they own sooo many ships (under different names as well as Orchid) it would be tough.

We had an incredible time aboard the Orchid Cruise in Vietnam—easily one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we stepped on the boat, the staff made us feel welcome with warm hospitality and professional service. The vessel itself was beautifully designed—luxurious yet comfortable—with spacious cabins that came with private balconies and stunning views of the limestone karsts of Ha Long and Lan Ha Bay. The itinerary was well-paced, with a great balance of relaxation and activities. We especially enjoyed the kayaking through hidden lagoons, the visit to the floating fishing village, and the sunset happy hour on the top deck. Meals were exceptional—beautifully presented and full of authentic Vietnamese flavor, with options for different dietary needs. What really stood out was the attention to detail and the peaceful atmosphere—smaller group sizes made the experience feel exclusive and intimate, far from the crowds of the bigger cruises. Highly recommended for couples, honeymooners, or anyone looking for a more serene and luxurious way to experience the beauty of Ha Long Bay. Would definitely sail with Orchid Cruise again!

We really enjoyed our cruise with Orchid cruises. We did the 2 night 3 day cruise on Orchid Classic boat. We were so well looked after by the lovely staff. Each and every one of them provided excellent service and really did cater to our every need. Special thanks to the cruise manager Lily and our excellent waiter who looked after us at every meal- Kent you were fabulous 😀 Our cabin was clean and had everything we needed- even a jacuzzi bath which was quite something to sit in the bath with the views of Halong bay. The activities put on provided exactly the right balance for us- we kayaked, swam, cycled to Viet Hai village, visited Trung Trang caves, went night squid fishing, took part in sun rise Tai Chi and cooking classes as well as taking time to just enjoy the wonderful views of Halong Bay. All the arrangements were excellent. We particularly enjoyed happy hour cocktails on the sun deck. Thank you to the bar team! All the food was excellent and we enjoyed the set dinners with the flexibility to meet dietary requirements. Well done chef and team!

Great experience with the team from Orchid Cruises. Emmanuel and Mel met us at the terminal and made sure our end-to-end experience was seamless. The boat was very comfortable, spacious cabins - and the food was awesome. A big shoutout to Alex and Rum and the entire team - very accommodating, worked very hard to make our trip special. Highly recommended!!

We did the two night cruise and had a fantastic experience. The staff are very welcoming and accommodating. Win did a great job of keeping us hydrated and ensuring we had a great dining experience. The meals were very tasty. Compliments to the chef! We also took advantage of the excursions and had a great time kayaking and biking around the island. The views are amazing and our cabin was large.

Our stay was wonderful. We stayed for 2 nights / 3 days, and there was plenty to do. We did kayaking, squid fishing, Vietnamese cooking, cycling, explored caves, had a dip in the jacuzzi, and a bit of sunbathing on a secluded beach on one of the remote islands. We felt looked after at every step. The cruise manager Mr. Emmanuel and other staff kept us informed of everything that was happening and everything was all very relaxed. Catering was wonderful, Mr. Rum kept us topped up, helped us into our seats, had doors open, mopped up any mess the kids made, all with a big smile, he was extremely attentive. If you're thinking of travelling to Vietnam I don't think I would advise to do it without taking the boat cruise, it's just great.

The views in Ha Long Bay were spectacular. The daily activities on the boat were well organised and we were taken to many beautiful spots, where we could do kayaking and swimming. The service during the cruise was amazing, especially Rum, who served us in the restaurant, and our cruise host Emanuel. All meals were of excellent taste and quality. We had a 2 nights/3 days cruise. The weather was very hot during our stay, but all common spaces and the rooms had air conditioning.

We had a perfect time on our Ha Long Bay cruise. The scenery is incredible and unlike anywhere I've ever seen before. We enjoyed the excursions (kayaking and to Cat Ba Island) and spending time in different parts of the bay. We were very pleased we picked a three day/two night cruise! The boat was a great place to stay: the room was lovely and the food was incredible. The staff went above and beyond to help with anything we needed - Sky, Mina and Chris were great and so was everyone else. Would love to come back one day!

We had a wonderful experience on our 3day 2night cruise. The food was incredible. It was peaceful and beautiful. But Elle absolutely was the highlight. She had the biggest smile and she always made sure we were happy and taken care of. I would come back just for her!

Would definitely recommend this Cruise if the trip goes to Halong Bay. We left for 3 days/2 nights. The sailing in the bay is a balm for the soul. The staff are super friendly and service minded, and our super skilled waiter, Elle, took good care of us. The facilities of the boat and the cabin are tiptop, and the food is really delicious.
