Our English-speaking guide Larry gave us an excellent tour of Zhangjiajie. We were picked up at the Crowne Plaza Zhangjiajie Wulingyuan at 9 AM each morning and driven to the starting location for the day. I would advise wearing good walking shoes as this tour has at least 4 hours of walking each day. Water bottles were provided in the van. Bring some snacks for lunch. There are some local places to grab small snacks from food stands on the tour, but there were no lunch stops planned; you'll have to ask Larry to stop if you get hungry or need a break. Larry is a hiking machine. I feel like we thoroughly saw each stop on the tours. Larry had very well planned out each day and the best places to see. He provided options for us at each attraction such as escalators or elevators if one or all of us didn't want to hike a certain portion. He handled getting all the tickets, negotiating all the lines, getting us on all the buses we needed, and interfacing with food vendors for us. He used his expert knowledge of the parks to find us hidden spots with fewer people for great photos. On our last day, he helpfully suggested we book a short stay at a hotel near the airport so we could rest and shower, rather than do a late checkout at the Crowne Plaza, and handled making this reservation for us. He also provided us transportation to the airport and helped us get checked in.
