PT: Recently, I participated in an amazing 3-day expedition from San Pedro do Atacama to Uyuni, Bolivia. The adventure began on July 23, 2026. Our Chilean guides, Marco and Jhonny, picked us up at the hotel at 6 a.m. Soon after, we departed for the border with Bolivia, where we enjoy a delicious breakfast prepared by the agency while we waited for the opening of the immigration. After the immigration trials, we found our Bolivian driver, Eduardo, in a 4x4 truck and we began our journey. The first stop was at a lodging at the foot of the Licancabur volcano, where we witnessed the incredible fauna of the Andean plateau and tasted a typical lhama empad that Marco gently bought for us. We continue the journey to the Blanca and Esmeralda lagoons, with stunning landscapes, perfect for photos. The Dali Desert was a unique experience and, soon afterwards, we visited the Morning Sun Geysers. The Laguna Colorada was one of the highlights of the trip, full of wildlife, including flamingos and lamas. We arrived in the city of Uyuni around 19 o’clock and stayed at the Hotel Rosario, a new place made of salt. Although our room was too warm, the stay was comfortable and the restaurant excellent. On the second day, we began our exploration of the Salar de Uyuni at 7:30 a.m., facing temperatures of -3 degrees. We visited the train cemetery, an impressive historical attraction. The Uyuni Salar is truly fascinating, and our first stop was in the "Eyes of the Salar", followed by the Dakar Monument. The visit to Incahuasi Island, with a panoramic view of the whole salar, was unforgettable, especially during lunch prepared by the agency. We rested at Hotel Luna Salada, where we enjoy the spa, heated pool and a bar. On the last day, after breakfast, we started our return, stopping in rocky formations like Lost Italy. The journey included more sightings of the Andean wildlife and a stop in a village with heated thermas for lunch. The Uyuni crossing is exhausting, but the natural beauty and wildlife make every moment worth it. It was essential to choose a good agency that took care of the whole script carefully. During the trip, we had access to water, breakfast and lunch, and an important tip: take Bolivian weights to use the bathrooms, as this service is generally charged in Bolivia. I highly recommend this expedition to all who love nature and adventure! EN: I recently participated in an incredible 3-day expedition from San Pedro de Atacama to Uyuni, Bolivia.
