The room was beautiful. This really exceeded our expectations. We loved the comfy bed and the private balcony. Very friendly staff and good food. The program was a bit full for our taste, but you can always choose not to join all activities. And this could also have felt a bit much cause of our jetlag. We loved the tour to Cat Ba Island with tour guide Gum. We were impressed by her knowledge and she was super relaxed and friendly. Best guide we had in a long time. We would definitely recommend a two night stay. This will give you more time to really soak in the beautiful views.
This cruise was amazing. The staff were fantastic especially Jack, Tim, Mr Phong, Joey, Ha and Lee. They made our stay a wonderful experience. The food was fantastic and we were upgraded from the 1st floor to the 2nd floor with the biggest room on the ship. This was a fantastic surprise for us.
With so many boats to choose from it was hard narrowing it down to La Pinta. Once we realised that all the boats do pretty much the same itinerary we chose La Pinta because we could get on the following day. Our room was amazing. Huge with a lovely big bathroom, more like a hotel room than a cabin. The food was fabulous especially the lunch and brunch. The dinner was buffet style which I am not a fan of however was good quality. For the price paid and standard of the ship water should be provided at meal times free of charge. The drinks didn't need to be as expensive as they were. The activities were just okay, unfortunately for any 1 night, 2 day pax the only swimming was after it was dark and the boat didn't carry their own kayaks. For the 3 day pax like us the 2nd day we were transferred onto another 'day boat'. This day was our highlight. Kayaking, swimming and strolling through a village on Cat Ba Island. Our host for the day Steven was exceptional. His conversational English was of a high standard (self taught), his level of care with each individual was outstanding. The food served up for lunch all cooked on that boat by Dion (?) was amazing. All in all worth the trip. Thank you to Joey for taking such good care of us along with the other members of the team.
