Our Tsavo East safari, arranged by Joppa Kenya Safaris, was a great experience. We stayed at Ashnil Aruba Camp and our driver-guide Pius was excellent, he showed us lions, a leopard, and later took us to Lugard Falls. Comfortable camp and memorable game drives. Highly recommend.

Three days with Joppa Kenia Safaris and I’m already planning the next one. We covered Tsavo East and West red earth, endless bush, elephants walking right past the vehicle, and a sunset that stopped us in our tracks. Everything ran smoothly from start to finish. But John, our guide… wow. The guy is next-level. Knowledgeable without ever showing off, patient, and has eyes like a hawk. He made the whole trip feel special and personal. We did a 3-day safari in Tsavo East National Park and booked it straight with Joppa Kenia Safaris. Honestly, it was one of the best decisions we’ve made. Our guide Jo was excellent from the start. He knew the park inside out, drove carefully, and never rushed us. He spotted animals long before we did and always found the best angle without disturbing them. We saw lions, several big herds of elephants (some really close to the vehicle), giraffes, zebras, buffalo, and plenty of other wildlife. The landscape itself is impressive red earth, open plains, and those big baobab trees. Everything was well organised. The vehicle was comfortable, the days weren’t overcrowded, and Jo made sure we got good sightings without it feeling forced. No big groups, just us, which made a real difference. If you’re thinking about Tsavo East, booking directly with Joppa Kenia Safaris and asking for Jo is a solid choice. We’d do it again without hesitation.

Just finished three days in Tsavo East and my head is still full of red dust and elephant trumpets. Our guide was Mike, and I’m glad we got him. The park feels endless — wide open plains, those rusty-coloured soils, and way fewer vehicles than places like the Mara. Mike knew exactly where to go. He didn’t race around; he slowed right down when something looked promising and gave us time to just watch. The red elephants stole the show. We spent a long time one afternoon near a waterhole watching a big family of them, the younger ones playing and rolling in the mud until they were completely coated. Later we picked up giraffes, zebras, buffalo, and plenty of antelope. Best moment came early on day two when Mike quietly pointed out a lioness with two small cubs resting in the shade. We stayed a good while without disturbing them. Mornings were the golden time — cooler air, animals moving, beautiful light. Evenings were relaxed back at camp. Everything ran smoothly, no stress, and Mike’s steady knowledge and calm manner made the whole thing feel easy and genuine. If you’re thinking about a short safari from the coast, this one delivers. Having Mike along made it better than it would have been with just any driver. Real wilderness, solid sightings, and a guide who clearly loves what he does.

This was an amazing experience for the second tim3 in Kenya. But this time we did Tsavo east and the experience was excellent 👌 we enjoyed the safari and our driver guide George was excellent i highly recommend this company's services. Daniel shon!!!

I just got back from a 3-day safari with Joppa Kenia Safaris and I’m still buzzing from the experience. We booked a private trip starting from the Mombasa/Diani area, and it was exactly what we hoped for – wild, immersive, and surprisingly relaxing. Day 1 kicked off with a smooth pickup and the drive into Tsavo East. The landscape changes quickly from coastal vibes to endless red-earth plains dotted with acacia trees. Our guide was fantastic – knowledgeable, patient, and clearly passionate about the park. Within the first few hours we spotted massive herds of elephants (that famous red dust on their skin is something else), giraffes, zebras, and even a couple of lions lounging under a tree. The game drives felt unhurried, and we stopped whenever we wanted for photos or just to take it all in. We stayed at a comfortable lodge inside the park with great food and views over the savannah. Evenings were peaceful – cold drinks, listening to the sounds of the bush, and chatting with our guide about Kenyan wildlife and culture. The next day we explored more of Tsavo East and crossed into Tsavo West. The scenery shifts again with hills, lava flows, and Mzima Springs where we watched hippos and crocodiles. Birdlife was incredible too – I’m no expert but even I was impressed by the variety. Everything ran like clockwork: transfers, meals, park fees, and accommodations were all handled perfectly. The vehicle was clean and reliable with a good pop-up roof for viewing. Our guide made the difference – spotting animals we would have missed and sharing stories that brought the place alive. No pressure, no rushing, just pure enjoyment. If you’re based on the coast and want a proper taste of Kenyan wilderness without a long multi-day trek, this 3-day Tsavo trip with Joppa is ideal. It’s great value, well-organized, and leaves you with memories (and photos) that will last a lifetime. Highly recommend – we’re already thinking about booking another one with them next time!
