We really enjoyed learning more about the Alamo, seeing parts of downtown San Antonio and the missions. Our guide, Tom, had a wealth of knowledge that he shared with us. I highly recommend this interesting and informative tour.

Missions of San Antonio
Seeing the missions was interesting. Our guide was friendly and kind. She mentioned that she had only done this tour for a little over a month. Perhaps with more time, she will learn more history to share.

Best Mission Tour with an Archeologist

Not some dusty old tour, vibrant storytelling made it come alive!
This is the perfect tour to get out of the Alamo and into the real history of San Antonio. Tom was an excellent guide and storyteller. Brought the world of 1718-1732 to life and up to the current day - as we experienced vibrant parish life today at each mission church! From ancient Kings to current Royalty - Tom has a story to share. Add this to your visit - well worth your time!

Great mission tour
It was such a pleasure to go on this tour with Tom. He was so nice, knowledgeable, passionate and a great storyteller.
As a solo traveller with no car, this tour made it very easy to see the missions and gave me so much information that I would not have been able to get otherwise. I could have continued to learn for much longer!

San Antonio's Rich Mission History, Brought to Life.
Highly informative and engaging tour led by Tom, a former archaeologist and National Park Service ranger. We were traveling with our two teens, ages 16 and 13, and got to geek out on all things history, from Spanish colonial culture and the mission system to the local Indigenous population and the history of San Antonio. My son is a history junkie, while my daughter loves art, and the tour definitely satisfied both of their interests.
The tour is conducted in an air-conditioned Sprinter bus, which makes it easy to stay cool and comfortable between stops. We visited four representative missions, each offering a different glimpse into the region’s history and culture. While the tour does not include the Alamo, it begins there, which provides helpful context for understanding the working missions we visited afterward.
It was a great way to spend the morning. If it’s your first time in San Antonio, you owe it to yourself to learn about the people, cultures, and history that shaped the city. Tom's knowledge and his exceptional storytelling is an excellent way to do it.
