Pretty steep but rewarding hike . Enjoyed the waterfall. Watch out for low branches. Definitely worth to visit. Lots of shade so good hike on a hot day.

Amazing hike, albeit not one for the faint-hearted! LOTS of steps! Upmountain cannot be faulted. Nico was delighted to offer a totally personalised walk for just 2 people, with transport to and from hotel. All smoothly booked online from UK. Our driver and guide for the day was David. He was great. Friendly, knowledgable, polite, always alert to our safety. Scenery was magnificent. Whole Experience was exceptional. From personal experience of previous visits to the Island, infinitely better than the mass "touristy" group walks offered by the bigger operators. Worth every bit of e. 285 cost for the day. So pleased we stumbled upon Upmountain when searching online from UK, with all other companies approached seemingly totally disinterested in meeting our requirements.

We had the absolute BEST experience with UpMountain Madeira— their crew has been FUN, flexible, and so knowledgeable. They have taken us all over on multiple excursions since we have been here this week. HIGHLY recommend David for all the hikes and Diego for the jeep tour. We did 25 fountains at the end of the week and we did a full day off road tour another day.

Fabulous hike, exceptionally good guide (David) was very knowledgeable and helpful, knows all the tips to avoid the crowds, small group, went at our pace. Highly recommended

Very interesting but also challenging levada hike. The landscape along the way is simply fantastic. It started off very cold at around 10 degrees but it quickly got warmer as you went up and down hills, your knees might hurt a bit. Make sure you bring provisions.

It was a beautiful varied walk. March is still a bit early for flowering plants, but we enjoyed the green surroundings and the waterfalls. The guide David was also very friendly, told a lot, adapted to us and it was very nice to walk with the 3 of us and David instead of a large group. We were picked up from our hotel on time to beat the groups. Ideal! Enjoyed quite a tough walk 25 Fontains. We did the walk with my energetic mother-in-law who is almost 82. She enjoyed it too. You do need good mobility and good fitness. After the walk, David drove back over the plateau in the van, unique on Madeira because of the 2 km flat plateau on top. While Madeira has points and mountains everywhere. Nothing is flat. We had a beautiful day.

We are so glad we chose to do the hike with David at Upmountain Madeira. We started at 8.00 and went a little different way than many other groups. This meant that we didn't have to crowd with so many other people. There were only 3 of us in our group and that made the tour personal. David was very nice and told us a lot along the way. This tour was a round trip instead of back and forth like many other companies have. Very happy with everything!! Thank you David for a nice experience.

Booked 2 Hikes with Up Mountain and we had the lovely David as our Tour guide. I have to say he was brilliant. Full of information about Madeira, spent so much time engaging with us al the way along. Answered all our questions and gave us a great information. He took photos for us and was just lovely, nothing was to much bother. I would have no hesitation to book with them again. We were collected from our hotel at the times given and had a choice to be dropped back to hotel or in Funchal. 100% would use then again on next visit.
