Our first driver skipped the route by the palace. We ran to catch a bus at one stop and got there before it pulled away but the door was closed and they wouldn’t wait for us. Then, after we got on the next bus, we had to wait for them 20 minutes when they changed drivers. I will not use this operator again.

We pre booked 48 hr tickets for Sunday and Monday Sunday we did the city tour. There were diversions and shorter route in the morning due to Edinburgh 10k race. Given we booked only a month earlier I think that could have been highlighted at time of booking. Afternoon the full route was in operation Good service and ok on board commentary Monday we wanted the Britannia service. Waited at the stop near our hotel which was advised to use by the staff on Saturday. Bus eventually came (only operate 1 per hour) driver said that was the last stop and he was returning to the start at George Street. Eventually he took us to the start. Then informed us we would have to wait there for an hour until he went round again We found another bus service Regal running every 20 minutes and they were excellent . So didn’t use Big Bus on Monday

Excellent. Very good value for money. There are 2 routes; one around the city and a longer one out to the coast to where the Royal Yacht Britannia is docked. Longer route one an hour, city route every 10 minutes. They provide headphones and a commentary in several languages. The ticket is valid for 48 hours so you can do as we did and do it all again the next day as we had time before our train home so we just rode round the city without hopping off. Everyone is very friendly.

There are various bus tours of Edinburgh - I chose this one because it seemed to take in the largest number of landmarks, and I wasn't disappointed , getting a whistle-stop tour of both Old and New Town. The commentary could have been more detailed - there were interesting-looking buildings on the way which didn't get a mention, with spells of Scottish music instead - and on one of my rides got a bit out of synch with what we were passing, but the highlights were all there and I saw everything I didn't have time to visit.

Didnt realize that there wasnt a tour guide. You have to use earbuds which doesnt work for someone with hearing aids. We did do the whole route and very easily could have used a city bus for cheaper

It was very well organized tour. Driver and the operator were so polite and charming. They were ready for any assistance.

Very easy to book online through Viator. Easy to find the bus and it stopped at all the interesting places in Edinburgh. The audio guide was very good too

This was a waste of money. First, we needed to wait over 45 minutes for a bus that was supposed to run every 10 minutes. Then, when we boarded the Blue Line at stop 3 and wanted to ride the entire loop around and disembark at stop 2, we were forced to get off at stop 1 because the bus we were on was being taken out of service - even though it was only 2 in the afternoon. So we would have waited another hour for the next bus - we ended up walking. It was a huge disappointment and a complete waste of time. Just walk - it’s faster.

There was construction in the city and bus stop 1 was not being used. The app told us to go to bus stop 1 and no one was there and the bus never arrived. When we finally went to bus stop 2 we waited 30 minutes for a packed bus to show up. Many were unable to get on bus. We were told they had a bus out of service. We finally got on bus and it was ok. Not great. Will never book an on and off bus until I arrive in the city and can physically see which company has more buses and is better run.

We got a 2-day pass . The first round we rode the bus all the way around and seen what we wanted to do. Next round we started doing the hop on and hop off. Very convenient. Saved us a lot of money. We took the Tram downtown and it stopped very close to where you catch the Hop on and Off bus.
