The boat ride itself was a blast. They provided warm overalls, googles and a neck/face scarf, we were plenty warm. We saw Minkes, humpbacks and porpoises. It was the highlight of our trip.

Fun boat trip AND whale watching tour
Not only seeing the whales was awesome. It‘s been so much fun riding the boat.
Guide Hannah has been lovely - she answered every question we had and provided a lot of interesting facts. Guys, try it - it‘s worth it. :)

Heads up if you're booking a RIB tour
Our RIB tour was cancelled once we arrived on site, with no apology whatsoever for the inconvenience. We were offered to switch to the classic boats instead, since even moving to another day, no RIB was available. While chatting with other passengers on the boat, we learned that this kind of mishap happens fairly regularly, under different pretexts (weather, breakdown...). If you're set on seeing whales by RIB, it's better to choose a company with several RIBs in their fleet, schedule your tour on your very first day in Reykjavík, in case it needs to be pushed to the next day.
Thankfully, the crew on board the boat was far friendlier than the staff at the dock. A lovely boat trip nonetheless.

Unfortunately, RIB tours are particularly sensitive to weather and sea conditions, and last-minute cancellations can sometimes be necessary to ensure the safety of our passengers and crew. In addition, these vessels require regular maintenance, and on rare occasions unforeseen technical issues may make it unsafe to operate the tour as planned.
We understand how disappointing it can be when plans change unexpectedly, especially if you were specifically looking forward to the RIB experience. While we were pleased to be able to offer an alternative whale watching tour, we recognize that this was not the experience you originally booked.
We also appreciate your comments regarding our staff at the dock. Friendly and professional service is very important to us, and we will share your feedback with the team to help us improve.
Thank you for your understanding, and we are glad to hear that despite the disappointment, you still enjoyed the boat trip and found the crew onboard welcoming and friendly. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for a RIB tour in the future under better circumstances.

Great for the family
This was a lovely experience. We saw a couple whales pretty closely, harbor porpoises, and of course, puffins. Our guide was warm and informative. The RIB boat was fun and more comfortable than it appeared at first glance.

Close up with nature
Wonderful experience seeing humpback whale up fairly close, stayed in the area watching for it resurfacing as guide didn’t feel it had gone into a deep dive. Saw many puffins flying past the boat several with food in their beaks. Didn’t see any dolphins, the trip before had seen dolphins and a whales tail
On way back into port stopped close to island where there was a mass of puffins, however guide didn’t feel say some had already started to leave the area
Was not out on the rib for full 2 hours as previous trip were late back in, lost 15 minutes

Whales and Puffins in Iceland
The lady guide was excellent and we managed to see a humpback whale playing and diving in the ocean. Also, the Puffin island visit was very interesting, what a fascinating bird the Puffin is.

Wow! Amazing
Best tour ever. Got really lucky and saw whales jumping, waving. Lived it! Alesso was the best and also Blanca and Laura. Super crew! Highly recommended.

Fun morning in the bay so dolphins whales and puffins ride was great but when the Tour operator says you have to be ther
The driver and the guide were excellent. It was a very fun ride. What you should know is the gloves are providing you are not very warm so if your hand and you’re holding onto something that is cold so you may want to bring your own gloves and as I said later the operator chose to wait for late people so we got back late. They didn’t take time off of us but we were trying to do a lot of things that day and we missed out on having time to make one of our stops due to meeting 30 minutes late.

Magnificent experience
The most magnificent experience! The rip boat was super fun and very comfortable!
Our guide Blanca was great and very knowledgeable. I had such an amazing experience with Special tours. The whales came really close and puffins also flew around the boat.
Really recommend this tour.
