The tour was well organized, the driver was very kind and efficient, and the hotel was good, but I booked the trip to do it solo, and they didn't notify me until 2 days before that I had to pay for a second spot. Had I known sooner, I would have explored other options.

What an amazing tour, showcasing some of Namibia’s most beautiful scenery. From the pale sands near the coast through rolling green hills to the truely breathtaking red dunes and iconic Deadvlei. Stephan was the perfect guide. He so obviously loves the country and loves showing it to others. And he has an eagle eye when it comes to spotting wildlife! We couldn’t have been in better hands. Moon Mountain Lodge was also a wonderful place to spend the night. Tented cabins made you feel part of nature but they also had the necessities like bathrooms and wifi, not to mention a private plunge pool. Food was great too. This was one of the best experiences I have ever had and I highly recommend it to anyone. If you are lucky you’ll get Stephan as your guide.

That was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. We didn’t really know what to expect—we’d seen pictures, of course, but actually experiencing it in person was truly unique. We owe it all to our guide, Tongai. He was the best guide we’ve ever had. He showed us the most incredible things and had such extensive knowledge about everything we saw, from the most poisonous plant to beetles in the desert. He took us to Dune 45 outside of “visiting hours.” The two couples were completely alone there; in Soussusvlei, too, there was no one else around except us and Tongai. The next highlight was spending the night at Moonlight Lodge with a view of the desert. You wouldn’t believe it, but there was even a thunderstorm that night. The lodge didn’t have glass windows, just gauze curtains. 900 km with one of the best guides. The stopover in Solitair was also a highlight. We’d like to thank you again for the incredible adventure with Tongai—he always had a smile on his face. We are Peter and Andrea, and Steffen and Steffi. We highly recommend booking there. Great 2-day tour with Stephan who has so much knowledge of and enthusiasm for this tour and wider Namibia. Over 1,000km clocked up seeng and exploring all the great sights.

Our guide, Winston picked us up promptly from our guest house in swakopmund, gave us a brief review of day’s activities. We selected our lunch at a local grocery store”shop” then drove out east into the desert. We were introduced to various lichen, the welwichia plant, canyons, various rock formations. It was the rainy season and the seasonal grasses were evident in the landscape which we were told was very unusual. We even forded rushing rivers. Sesriem canyon was full of water, sossusvlei and especially dead valley was eerily beautiful. The dunes were magnificent and climbing dune 45 was a good experience ( go barefoot!) we were also fortunate to have some cloud cover which kept the temperatures from being oppressively hot. Winston has a lovely sense of humor, kept us well informed about geology, fauna and flora. We did see ostrich, oryx, a prairie dog, zebra , butterflies and an interesting bask beetle. Overall, a worthwhile adventure. Thank you Winston.

Very last minute the Desert Dunes & Dust Tours organised this 1,5 days tour for me alone and I was soo lucky to do it!!! We started in the morning and went through all the amazing different sceneries of the desert and the canyons. My guide Winton was very nice to talk to and funny, he answered my questions, explained the landscape and pointed out animals to me. I was especially lucky to experience the rain in the Namib desert - a once in a lifetime moment! We couldn’t pass one river, saw green pastures and maybe more animals than usual; we saw a rainbow and beautiful clouds, felt the rain and saw a young giraffe play joyfully in the water. The walk to the Deadvlei (Sossusvlei) was hard for me (lack of fitness ;-) ) but Winton very kindly accompanied me and helped me reach the unique place when almost no other tourist was there. After Sossusvlei we visited Sesriem Canyon which was filled with water - also a unique sight I learned. After the visits I was tired but we opened the windows of the car and felt the wind and the rain and it was the greatest feeling - the freedom of the desert! The lodge where we stayed over night had great views, good food and very attentive service. I would have loved to stay longer! In the night I could hear the jackals and because of the rain there were butterflies everywhere. All in all it was a wonderful unique experience for me that was so much more than I expected! This was hands down the highlight of our visit to Namibia!
