We had such an amazing time with Just Taiwan Tours and cannot recommend them enough. We requested Tony based on recommendations we read in other reviews and we were so happy we did; he was an incredible driver and tour guide, taking us to some really special and unique places most tourists don’t go to, and was full of amazing knowledge and great tips for the best photo spots and hidden gems for food and other activities. The tour company is very flexible and accommodating throughout with special requests if you want to deviate from the planned itinerary, and all in all we had the most amazing two-day experience in Alishan and the surrounding area.

We loved this tour and our fabulous guide, Tony! Tony picked us up at pirates hotel in a Mercedes van. Water was provided both days which was an added bonus for us. He knew all the hidden spots to take us and brought along his own Nikon camera to take pictures! He provided a card with all of his photos loaded. We felt like celebrities with all of the photo ops! His service was just amazing, speaking excellent English and telling us all about the history pf this island and all of the special places he took us. We kept saying how lucky we were, because we were able to see a sunset, sunrise, monkeys, moths at the temple, got great parking spots, and had fabulous food along the way. I highly recommend this tour and the accommodations provided!Thank you Tony for the great time and amazing photos!

Excellent guide to Alishan forest train and old trees. Evan was creative in handling my wife’s mobility issues.

It is a wonderful commune with nature — fresh air, awesome views with a little history. Our guide/ driver/photographer Wilson is the best! The hotpot dinner was also good!

It was fantastic! Joshua Liu was my driver and tour guide for the trip - he was very knowledgeable and a great tour guide! Alishan is beautiful and the stay in the mountains was beautiful. Highly recommend this tour!

I did a two‑day, one‑night private tour to Alishan with Joseph, and I couldn’t have asked for a better guide. He handled both the driving and guiding, and I always felt completely safe with him behind the wheel. His English is very good, and he knows all the best viewpoints and hidden spots for photos. Joseph is extremely courteous, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what he does. He also introduced me to some great local food places that I wouldn’t have found on my own. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I highly recommend “Just Taiwan” travel tours — especially if you can request Joseph.

Well worth the trip from Taipei. Joesph was our guide- he was very professional, kind, polite and very knowledgeable. Gorgeous view, unlike I’ve seen before. The air is so clean, fresh and smelling of the Cypress trees.

My partner and I had an incredible 2-day tour in Alishan thanks to Tony! Getting a tour guide who is so in love with Alishan’s beauty as well as one of the most knowledgeable guides we have had was such a pleasure as it was literally the first itinerary item for Taiwan for us. He taught us about the history of the region to the unique tree formations, mountains formations, wildlife ecosystem, and the indigenous tribes residing in the mountains. He brought very interesting stories and insights we would’ve never discovered on our own. More than navigating the windy mountain road, Tony is also a talented photographer. He took beautiful, professional-style photos of us throughout the trip with the Alishan mountains and nature as the backdrop! Those shots alone were worth it, especially since we were blessed with seeing a phenomenal sunrise and the sea clouds at sunset. On top of that, he was simply a joy to be around. He was fun, easy to talk to, and full of good humor the entire time. Lastly, I accidentally left my power bank in his car after the tour ended, and he went out of his way to drop it off at our hotel. That was very thoughtful of him, and our first impression of the kindness of Taiwanese people. Tony truly went above and beyond. Highly recommend booking a tour with him!

Booked a 2 days trip to Alishan and arrangements made to pick up us at the hotel. We met Tony Kuo, he is our driver, guide and later known that he is also our photographer armed with camera. A long and winding road to reach Alishan at around 2pm before catching the train to the forest trail. A nice and pleasant walk with fresh and crisp air through the Sister pond and ancient trees. The highlight of the day is Tony brought us to a place to wait for the sunset. We enjoyed the beautiful sunset. End the first day in the B&B and doing DIY ‘mochi’ a popular snack. We hope to see the sunrise the next day and Tony advised to move out early at 5.20am and short drive and walk to the platform at 1200m height. We waited patiently for the clouds to clear and at 6.20am the sun appeared. We enjoyed the beautiful sunrise and Tony told us the chances viewing both sunset and sunrise is less than 50% due to the unpredictable weather conditions. We are just lucky and thanks Tony, our knowledgeable guide and the nice photos he has taken for us.
