We started with the caves and coast line. Due to the weather we couldn’t enter the caves or have a quick stop off, which is understandable. The guide was good and explained what we were seeing at this point.
This part was interesting and relaxing, however they then said we were off to see the dolphins.
Which became a 50min high speed ride into the ocean. We were jostled around for the whole 50mins, no explanation. Just endlessly going further from land.
I appreciate you have to head out to find the dolphins, but my god it was dull. Some people fell asleep, some on their phones, some poor man felt unwell right from the start and clung to the seat in front of him the whole duration.
When we finally saw the dolphins I was more relieved than excited, as it meant we could go home.
As by this point I was not only getting burnt from the glare off the water, but also freezing cold from the endless wind.
However, the hosts information on the common dolphin was interesting.
The good points:
Nice crew, well organised start, clean and modern boat,
The bad:
Totally exposed boat, take a hat, suntan lotion, water and something warm to wear.
No communication when looking for dolphins, long boring cold jostling journey.
At points jostling is an understatement, the boat repeatedly rising and then slamming down into the waves.
Far too long, we were out for 3 hours, with the majority spent heading out to the ends of the earth.
I wish I’d researched better and gone for a shorter more pleasant trip without the endless dolphin hunt.

Our main goal is to give our guests the best possible opportunity to see dolphins in their natural habitat, and as these are wild animals, this sometimes means travelling further offshore and spending more time searching for them.
We fully understand that the journey can feel long and tiring, especially in changing sea conditions, but we never want to give up on the search too early when our guests have come specifically to see dolphins.

Exceeded all expectations
Never seen dolphins, and now got to see them up close for real. An incredible nature experience to see these beautiful, intelligent animals with the naked eye.
Navigating through the caves in the dramatic coastal landscape afterward was worth the trip in itself, but felt more like relaxation after the dolphin watching.

An absolutely fantastic experience
It was a wonderful boat ride, from the first to the last minute! We had the opportunity to observe dolphins in their natural habitat, a simply unforgettable experience. It was exciting to see them so closely and to notice the care and respect of the team for the animals.
The visit to the caves was also spectacular. The landscapes are beautiful and the views of the sea gain a completely different beauty.
The entire team was 5 stars: very friendly, professional, attentive and always available to make the tour even more special. We felt safe and very well accompanied throughout the trip.
Without a doubt, an experience that we recommend to everyone! It is very worth it and we would repeat without hesitation! 💙

Easy to book, well organised. Good value for money
Really well organised. Easy to book on line, tickets came through electronically quickly. (I booked for next day) at busy time of year. Saw dolphins (95% chance of seeing them is very good)

Benagil Caves and Dolphin Tour
Me and mum thoroughly enjoyed the benagil caves and dolphin tour 🐬 both marine biologists were very friendly and informative and catered to all languages . Would recommend to anyone visiting Portugal and wanting a trip out and about ☺️

Wheelchair user sees dolphins and stunning caves
As a wheelchair user I was able to indulge in this awesome experience with this company, from start to finish it was outstanding. The Biologist on board were extremely knowledgeable and so helpful, kind, patient and caring
As 5 adults we did this with me , through support, climbing onto the boat and my wheelchair being tethered to the back of the boat safely, I took my seat alongside my husband and sister, with my 17 year old nephew and brother in law behind us , we were all in awe, seeing about 6 dolphins in a group was wonderful, breathtaking actually. The caves were so beautiful, the colours gorgeous and the knowledge again from the Biologists was extremely helpful Wow, what an awesome adventure

Amazing experience!!
What a great experience. Got very lucky to see a big family of about 12-15 dolphins 🐬. Beautiful day and lovely guide and biologist. The tour was worth the money.

Excellent trip
The team were very friendly and so knowledgeable. Sharing pictures and describing everything along the way . They really cared for the animals and were very educational for the kids . Excellent all around and a free picture at the end to top it all off .
