Even though we only spent one day with Malang, he made a lasting impression. His hospitality was exceptional, and he made sure we experienced some of the very best that Dakar has to offer. In just one day, we visited the safari, the beautiful Pink Lake, explored the vibrant local market, and enjoyed incredible traditional Senegalese food. Everything was well organized, and Malang was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about sharing his culture with us. If you’re visiting Dakar and looking for someone who will give you an authentic, enjoyable, and memorable experience, I highly recommend Malang. Thank you for making our day in Senegal so special!

We took a private excursion to the Bandia Safari and Pink Lake in Dakar, and it was a memorable day—especially from a cultural perspective. Our guide, Malang, was excellent from start to finish. He stayed attentive from the moment we booked, kept us informed throughout the experience, and made sure we were comfortable the entire time. Our driver also did a great job navigating Dakar’s traffic and road conditions. The Bandia Safari was a highlight. We enjoyed seeing giraffes, hippos, monkeys, zebras, birds, and several species of antelope up close in a beautiful natural setting. Pink Lake, however, was a bit disappointing; it didn’t resemble the vivid images often shown online. Still, the outing overall was worthwhile. Despite the mixed experience with Pink Lake, we had a good day and would absolutely recommend Malang as a guide.

Malang was an awesome guide. It was only me and he made the experience feel like up was going with a friend. We talked about the history of senegal, rode atv's, and got some good local food. It was a great experience to see and he made the time more fun.

Me and my colleagues really enjoyed the trip, we had so much fun seeing all the different animals in Bandia and sailing in the Lac Rose. It was an easy day trip that is very much suitable for the first timers. The tour guides were really nice and friendly. I left an item on their van and they went out of their way to give it back to me the other day.

Malang took us on a private tour of Bandia Reserve and the Pink Lake, and it was awesome in every respect. Malang is a fantastic guide, and is super fun and knowledgeable about the area. He also speaks perfect English. Highly recommend!

Ile de Goree (Goree Island) and Lake Retba (Lac Rose -“Pink Rose”) Still remembering Senegal! Including a couple of tours with tour guide, Malang. Going to Ile de Goree was a highlight for me; As a self-professed descendant of enslaved Africans, being there was sobering and sad to relive such a horrific inhumanity. Yet, because of the island guide Malang arranged, my experience was also empowering. Alaji is exceptionally knowledgeable – educating and enlightening me far beyond mainstream info. The next day, I was fortunate to have Malang as guide to Lake Retba, and it being awesomely pink. Here, Malang introduced me to a local expert before going out on a boat, and meeting a salt miner actively engaged in harvesting the lake’s pink salt. Amazing! In this same area, I was also treated to the thrill of ATV driving along the ocean! THANKS Again, Malang!

I had the best trip organized by Malang. I arrived from the IS with very little planned. Malang was my guide on the one activity that was on the schedule. I told him about the other sights that I wanted to visit during my stay and he happily made suggestions and arranged everything at a moment’s notice! He taught me common Wolof phrases and showed me where to get great Senegalese food. It was wonderful touring Pink Lake, Lampoul Desert, local markets, the African Renaissance Statue and Goree Island with Malang. I even saw him play his drum in a local celebration! I couldn’t have asked for a better trip. Thank you Malang! Can’t wait to do it again!

Such a magical experience for myself and my young daughter. Having just arrived from the US, Malang immediately made us feel welcome (and safe). He was fun, kind, patient, and knowledgeable. He was so wonderful with daughter…she wished we could have spent more time on tour with him!!

Was in Dakar on a cruise so organised a half day tour. I had two places I wanted to go then happy for suggestions from Malang for other places. Malang was excellent to deal with, great communication and a very reasonable price. He advised me a few days before he was now unable to do the tour himself but had a colleague, Fallou, who could. Fallou was great too, very informative and great company. Back on the ship a friend said I was the only person he'd seen who was smiling and saying what a great day I'd had. I highly recommend Malang and would definitely book him again next time in Dakar.

Malang was such a knowledgeable and friendly guide! He curated an amazing day and I had the best time. Looking forward to returning to adventure further into Senegal and Gambia with him. I was only in port for the day off of the Norwegian Dawn and I took a chance with a non-cruise excursion, but Malang got me safely around to so many sites and back to the ship with plenty of time to spare. The experience at the bandia animal reserve was lovely. I was surprised at how uncrowded that attraction was. Afterwards there was a wonderful boat ride to a Bayside restaurant with local cuisine and then an incredible boat ride through the mangroves. Overall, it was such a lovely day! Can’t recommend it enough. Malang made me feel safe and was so excited to share his beautiful country and culture!
