The Emperor's Pavilion at the zoo was one of the desired destinations during this year's visit to Vienna. We left the establishment with a single disappointment. My Wiener Melange was as good as cold, the cardinal slice so sugary that you couldn't taste anything of the cake base used. On the water glass served with it was the lip print of the previous guest, decorated with water spots. Food and drinks were placed on the table without a word, without asking who was getting what. The interior was so cluttered with tables and thus chairs that you could hardly get to an available seat. To the left of the bar (we were sitting at the bar) were cleaning utensils, buckets, mops, ++++. The floor was very dirty. We will visit Vienna, Schönbrunn, and the zoo again, as it is one of the most beautiful places we know. However, not the Kaiserpavillon anymore; that is how great my/our disappointment is.

We already knew that the palace tour would be amazing, but we were pleasantly surprised how good the tour’s provided restaurant, Joseph II, was going to be. It was elegant and the food was superb - well worth the combo price for the ticket for sure!

Palace is skippable if you don't have much time in Vienna

Lunch time, viewing time, everything was different. When I contacted them to confirm, they did not reply. For the worst service, I thought I would never use it again.

Be sure to bring a headset as they provide a small decide but no headsets!! It’s hard to hear otherwise. It a beautiful place and would be crowded and HOT in the Summer months! The gardens are beautiful and the interior intriguing!

This was not a tour - this was a waste of money. When you arrive at the meeting point Joseph’s II restaurant you have lunch that is prefixed and you receive two tickets at the end to your the palace. This was a do it yourself excursion. This should not be sold as a “tour” and should not have the words “meeting place” which depicts a tour with a guide. This was disappointing and I would not recommend to anyone !!!!!! The Newport Mansions in Newport Rhode Island America is a much better experience then we had at Schönbrunn -

The palace tour was fantastic, but the meal prior to the tour was disappointing. The big surprise was that there was no option (other than vege, which we did not fancy). It was either schnitzel and strudel, or nothing. The service was slow and not particularly friendly. Looking at what other diners were having, the actual meal appeared to be a cut down version of what was on the menu. We would give the meal only 2 stars. In fact we would not recommend this tour at all. It would have been a much better experience, and possibly cheaper, to organise the meal and the visit separately.

We opted for the Grand Tour with lunch and sadly lunch was very disappointing. I’d marked the booking with dietary requirements as vegetarian. When we got to Jospeh II restaurant we were only given the one option (2 on the menu). Balsamic lentils with bread dumplings. A plate of brown tasteless mush. Neither of us could eat it. Apple strudel was palatable. Also it took a very long time to serve us. I’d suggest if you have dietary requirements ie non meat then don’t bother with tickets with lunch. The palace tour itself was wonderful and highly recommended.

Schonbrunn Palace is amazing BUT The service at the restaurant was terrible, prices of drinks are super inflated (€7.40 for a bottle of water that was listed €2.50 on the menu). They completely forgot about us and we had to eat in a rush not to lose our reservation at the palace. Plus the palace staff is very unfriendly

Finding the restaurant was difficult . We wasted too much time finding the location . As a result the meal was rushed It was quite nice though . The tour was rather busy
