The whole experience was absolutely amazing from start to finish. We decided to stay two nights in the desert camp, which turned out to be a great decision. Most people had booked only one night, but staying for two nights gave us the opportunity to really experience the desert instead of just arriving in the evening and leaving again the next morning. Our guide Maria was excellent, very friendly, helpful and caring. Even after she dropped us off at the camp, she kept checking in to see how we were doing and whether everything was okay. During our second day, we had a private excursion with two guides from the desert camp, Halid and Hassan. They were absolutely amazing. They were not just our guides, we genuinely felt like we were spending the day with friends. They were funny, relaxed and showed us so many interesting places and things in the desert. We had a fantastic time with them. We definitely recommend staying two nights in the desert camp. With only one night, you arrive in the evening and leave the next morning for the long journey back. Staying for two nights gives you a full day to explore and truly experience the desert. The camel ride was a great experience, but we would also highly recommend the quad bike excursion. With the quads, you can explore much more of the desert and see a lot more of the dunes. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience, and we would highly recommend it!

We had such a wonderful and unforgettable 4-day trip to the Merzouga Desert in Morocco. The landscapes, the desert, and all the experiences along the way were truly special, but what made the trip even better was our amazing guide, Yusef. He was always there for us, not only as a group but also for each of us individually, making sure everyone felt comfortable and had everything they needed. He was incredibly friendly, kind, patient, and always in a good mood, and it really felt like he genuinely cared about us and our experience. By the end of the trip, he felt more like a friend than just our guide. Thank you, Yusef, for all the laughs, conversations, kindness, and great memories. This was such a beautiful experience that we will remember for a long time, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to experience the magic of Morocco and the Sahara! ❤️🐪

We had a private tour with Ibrahim as a driver. It was really amazing, the tour was great and Ibrahim was really helpful. We recommend it for everyone, especially staying two nights at the desert, not only one.

This was a wonderful experience, made extra special by our fantastic guide Mensour. We experienced amazing sunsets and sunrises, camel rides and quad biking in the desert, good food, great company, stunning dark sky views of the Milky Way, drumming and chatting around the firepit, wonderful mountain and desert views, and precious insights into the nomad and Amazigh way of life. Our family of four (two grown up children) had a blast. There is no getting away from the fact that the distances are long, and the journey is uncomfortable if you are unlucky enough to be squidged in on the back seat on a hot day. But even then there are frequent stops for coffee, lunch, toilet, or for beautiful views and taking pictures. This is on top of the longer stops at Ait Benhaddou and Todgha Gorge. There were several opportunities to swim on lunch stops and at the first night hotel, so bring a swimming costume. We were on the road for about 10.5 hours on the first day including approx 4 hours worth of stops (including two hours for lunch and then a one hour walk around Ait Benhaddou) and arrived at the first night hotel around 6:30pm in time for a shower and swim before dinner. The hotel is basic but clean and servicable. Dinner and breakfast were great. Travel times were around the same on the second day, but including longer stops, a great walk around the Todgha Gorge and countryside, and a visit to a local home (and carpet co-operative - no hard sell). Then two hours for lunch and a swim. There was also a stop to buy a desert scarf if you have not already picked one up in Marrakech. We arrived in Merzouga around 5:45pm for an hour long camel ride to our desert camp. The camp was very comfortable and clean. Despite being in a tent we had a tiled floor (son and daughter's tent had rugs) and ensuite shower and toilet. Again food was good and plentiful, and there was a large fridge from which they sold water, sodas and orange juice, and in which we were also allowed to store our own water, beers and wine. Activities on the third day in camp (extra charge for some on the tour, though included in ours) included a visit to nomad families, to hear traditional music, to a mascara/ kohl mine and then lunch. None of lunches are included and prices varied from around 110 dirhams to 150 dirhams across the four days. After lunch, given that it was incredibly hot in camp, Mensour arranged for us to spend the afternoon at a swimming pool at a very nice Riad. We spent about 3 hours there and those who wanted to swim could do for a charge of 100 dirhams. I didn't bring my cossie, but wished I had! After that we had a quad biking trip through the dunes, with a stop for sandboarding. This was such good fun. It costs an extra 500 dirhams /50 euros or 60 euros if you share a quad, but it was a real highlight for us. The tour ended back at the camp, in time for showers, a final dinner, and some star gazing. Then a (very) early start on day 4 to ride our camels out of the desert as the sun rose behind us. Truly magical. I am writing this on the minibus journey back to Marrakech, having had a incredible time, made some great friends and some really special memories Given the distances involved, I would highly recommend doing this tour over the 3d2n ones that only spend one night in the desert camp. People who we met who did that tour arrived in camp around 7pm and left at 6am the next morning. It's a lot of driving for not much desert! By contrast, even despite the driving time, I felt that the 4d3n tour was very well balanced. Finally, special mention must go to our guide Mensour. He was so kind, so calm, so funny and so knowledgeable, and took care of us all really well. His English was really excellent as well (he speaks six languages!) He turned a great trip into an incredible one.

We were four friends spending two days in the desert, and it was an unforgettable experience! From sandboarding and quad biking to riding through the dunes in the back of a pickup, we had so much fun. Our guide was incredibly friendly and patient, and even helped arrange a surprise birthday cake for one of our friends. Highly recommended, amazing scenery, great activities, and a warm welcoming atmosphere!

It was an incredible experience, absolutely worth every penny. Mensour was a fantastic guide, incredibly helpful and always happy to answer our questions. Even though the drive to the desert was long, the journey was wonderful and packed with scenic stops. We truly got to experience the essence of the desert by visiting nomadic families and sharing tea with them. For the full day in the desert, we highly recommend taking the 4x4 tour; it lets you see so much more than just staying at the camp. The quad bike ride is also a must-do if you're looking for an adrenaline rush! A huge thank you to Mensour for making this trip unforgettable and giving us memories we’ll cherish forever.

This is an absolute must do if you visit Morocco. It doesn’t get much more memorable than this! I celebrated my 30th birthday on this trip with three of my best friends, and it was an amazing experience. Our guide, Mensour, was patient, knowledgeable, and always went the extra mile. He even surprised me with a birthday cake around the campfire one evening, which made the trip even more special. The first day is packed with fun stops and activities. I highly recommend adding the quad bike excursion and the 4x4 tour to visit the nomads, along with the camel ride. Bring swimwear too, as there’s a chance to swim at one of the stops. Lunches cost around €10–15. Do yourself a favor and book the deluxe package. Having your own space and private bathroom is absolutely worth it. Overall, this experience was worth every penny. The dinners were good, though the breakfasts could be improved in terms of quality and variety. One final tip: buy any alcohol you want before entering the desert, as you won’t have another chance later. Greetings from Philip

Fantastic experience. Top 3 trips I’ve done so far and highly recommend it. We were a group of 4 friends travelling and joking around a lot. Maybe not the best tourists, but our guide (think his name was Monsoor), was very patient, kind and friendly with us. We were celebrating our friends 30th birthday, and Monsnoor made some phone calls to get delivered a cake to our camp in the Sahara desert. 10/10 experience.

This trip is a great experience that’s amazing value for money! Even though the drives are long to get to the desert and back, there are regular stops for snacks and sightseeing along the way so it’s really manageable. And it is all worth it for the night in the desert. Our guide Attmane has been amazing - so helpful, kind and well organised. Our driver Hicham has also been great. Would highly recommend! :)

I had a really great experience on this tour. It was full value for the money that I paid. My guide Maria was the best. She was very attentive to everyone’s needs whilst explaining everything in 3 different languages. It’s a long two days to the desert. The stop at Ait Ben Haddou was very interesting. The Monkey FIngers and Dades Gorge stops were beautiful. Being tall it was a bit of a challenge for me on the bus as the seats are so close together. I stayed two nights in the desert and really thankful I did. You arrive at the camp at about 8pm and then leave the next morning at 6am. Its dark most of that time. I enjoyed that second day wondering the dunes and just relaxing. I enjoyed a desert tour with Mohammed to a real Berber camp, driving thru the desert and the restaurant we went to. I know it may seem very touristy to ride the camels to the camp and back but imagine how the Berbers did it every day on long days in the desert. It’s a true experience in the desert. I have been on desert tours in other countries and Discover Sahara Tours did a really great job with pre-tour details, information and communication. I will say that it’s hot in the desert. I recommend upgrading to deluxe accomodations if you can. Also, if you can upgrade to a tent with ac it’s even better because if you are like me, I can’t sleep when it’s hot!
