The teacher is very kind and patient with our kids. We have enjoyed our time learning painting! Everything is well organised, and many thanks to our guide Eric!

We attended a master class hosted by a wonderful artist, and it was an absolute delight! The atmosphere was warm and friendly, and the artist is truly a professional. We even managed to create our own beautiful masterpieces. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts — we will definitely recommend this to our friends.

Eric did a fantastic job getting us to the artists’ residence and translating throughout the whole experience. This experience wouldn’t have been possible without his assistance. The individual instruction from the artist was definitely appreciated. The lesson went through a practice before working on the take-home copy. The lesson pace was perfect for the beginner. I thoroughly recommend this as a unique experience while in Shanghai!

The class was great! The teacher is amazing and the whole experience was wonderful. The teacher explains about the materials, the 4 treasures, how to use the brush, the aesthetics etc. It felt great to get out of my comfort zone and get back in touch with my inner self and learn about Chinese culture through art.

I took this Chinese brushwork class on my last day in Shanghai. A local guide and translator Eric accompanied me and was very helpful! The art teacher, Ms. Zhang, walked me through a few exercises to practice the building blocks of linework and building petals using a Chinese brush. We then worked on the final painting of a beautiful Chinese rose on rice paper. Ms. Zhang was very kind and thorough. The lesson took place in her studio with her lovely terrace garden. I learned so much to apply to my own artwork & am thrilled with the beautiful scroll painting I took home!

My husband and I had the best time taking this Chinese art class with Ms. Chang in Shanghai. Lucy picked us up from our hotel and stayed as our translator throughout our class. We learned how to paint a Chinese flower following step by step along with our art teacher. It was such a lovely way to spend a morning away from the hustle and bustle of Shanghai city. If you’re ever in Shanghai, looking for a very special and unique experience, with a great souvenir to take home, this is a great choice!

Had a wonderful experiance in Shanghai learning just a bit of this magnificent art form. I can really rekommenderar it to everyone. You get to meet an aktiv working artist in her studio who is kind, patient and a lovely teacher. It made my whole trip to China complete. This is a real painting class with a professional artist. I visited the artist at their private studio, learned basic techniques and also had the opportunity to paint my own Chinese painting.
