Waqrapukara is amazing. If you like the less-touristy attractions, this is for you. There are several ways to get there. We chose to rent a vehicle and drive from Cusco to Santa Lucia and continue on another 20 min to the trailhead. From there it is a 2km hike and an approx 1K ft elevation gain. There were some archeological workers around but we were the only visitors present. We thought about turning this into a 2-day trek and staying overnight at this amazing site but we decided to just make it a 1-day trip. That was sufficient. Beautiful site - well worth the adventurous drive.

Great overnight camping trip with Juan Carlos, our guide and modestos our cook. Everyone made the hike worth it just to get a peak on Waqrapukara at sunset and sunrise. This place is a hidden gem with beautiful viewpoints. Would recommend doing this for those who want to enjoy the hike without the rush of finishing it.
