Maria was excellent. As am American, my understanding of polish history is limited to a little paragraph in our textbooks about world war 2. Maria spent a solid 30 minutes explaining to us the past 500 or so years of history - stuff I had no idea about. Did you know that Poland was at one time a part of Prussia, Hungary, and Russia? Or further that Poland and Lithuania were once a single entity? Fascinating stuff Great sites and a great and educational time. I really appreciated every moment.

This was the perfect tour to get to know 2 important areas of Warsaw- the ghetto experience of Jews during the Holocaust and the Old Town dating back to medieval times. I appreciated the care Art took when discussing the plight of the Jewish people. He pointed out their acts of resistance beyond the 2 uprisings and was super knowledgeable of Jewish symbolism used in memorials. Art fielded a ton of my questions about the Old Town. He gave not only the history of the area but discussed architecture and folklore. One big aha was the knowledge that there was a second smaller market square to sell smelly and lower quality goods! It makes sense and we saw where this was. Be sure to make a wish on the bell and ask him for restaurant recommendations. This guy is a Warsaw native with a passion for history and his city- he knows it all. I would recommend this tour.

It was very informative and Kasper was very knowledgeable about Polish history and the history of Jews in Warsaw. Definitely worth your time.
