モントレー、カーメルと17-マイルドライブ：SFから終日ツアー

Great tour with a lot to see. Donny, our tour guide, did a great job getting us to all of the stops. It was a long day, but very enjoyable.

Dani the driver was friendly and polite. The only issue was the motor coach itself. It needed shocks since we felt every bump in the road.

We drove on Highway 1, enjoying the beautiful Pacific coastline along the way. It was foggy in San Francisco, but the driver said not to worry; we would definitely see the sun in Monterey in the afternoon. Sure enough, not far south, we saw the blue sea and golden beaches under the sun. I saw sea lions playing and sunbathing on the beach in Monterey, enjoyed the ocean view along the 17 miles, and browsed shops and had coffee in Carmel town. Except for the journey being a bit far, and getting back to the city after 8 PM, everything else was perfect.

We recently had the pleasure of being guided by Dani during a day trip to Monterey and Carmel. From the moment we were picked up until we were dropped off, Dani's professionalism and enthusiasm significantly enhanced our experience.

We did the tour to Carmel and Monterey. It was a nice day, we saw a lot. Definitely a recommendation!

The destinations on this tour were lovely but the journey to get there was downright frightening! The tour was run by Grayine and they were most disappointing. The driver was personable but not overly informative. His main focus (natuarlly) was on driving the mni bus in city traffic and later on the twisty two-lane highways. BUT by far the worst aspect of the trip was the actual mini bus itself! This was a barely road worthy and downrighr dangerous vehicle!! The vehicle had no useful shocks or springs left. It repeatedly swayed, creaked, and rattled with every curve and bottomed out with a loud BANG over the smallest bumps. At one point it bottomed out so hard that the passenger door came partially open. The driver had to pull over and exit the vehicle and manually reclose the door. The upper wind shield had a large crack all the way across and several smaller cracks in one corner. Also, part of the mechanism for closing the passenger door (a large rod with a ball end) was disconnected at the ball end and it was laying across the first step of the passenger entrance, posing a tripping hazard and leaving us wondering why it was not properly connected UNDER the step. This minibus was a hazard and we were fearful that we may suffer a breakdown at freeway speeds and be in an accident. We could not wait to get off this rolling wreck!! It put a damper on an otherwise lovely visit to beautiful Monterey and Carmel.

The tour was pretty much what we expected. Timing at each spot was great. Our driver/guide, Danny, was very nice. The only concerns we had was the front windshield was cracked all the way across which was a little unnerving and I don’t know if it is CA roads or if the van needs new shocks but the ride was very bumpy at times so it made it hard to understand what Danny was saying. The two different pick up spots made it very convenient. All in all, it was a really nice day.

The tour, with Don, was incredibly informative. Don is very knowledgeable and shared his information during the whole drive down the coast. He began his interesting narrative while we were still in San Francisco, and continued while driving to all our destinations. He was very friendly, accommodating, and interested in each of his tour members. The coast was rugged and beautiful, like nothing I have ever seen before. We were able to get out of the bus periodically, to take pictures, use a bathroom, just enjoy the scenery. We saw otters, seals, my granddaughter saw a whale at one point, and more different types of birds than I have ever seen before - often in huge groups, on rocks. I have only one negative thing to say: the trip was too long for me and my granddaughter. The last visit, to Carmel, could have been eliminated ... and then it would have probably been a PERFECT experience. I highly recommend this tour, especially if you can request it with Don who is so interesting and knowledgeable (about history and everything nature related).
