We had a horrible experience with RightChoice. This video we found helps to explain the likely reason why we got scammed by Rightchoice. LAW SUIT against him on Feb 17th 2026 here is the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqvQbmB_jVo
Basically we booked a trip thru George for 2027 and paid our deposit. One member of our group got a serious knee injury and we were thinking we should cancel our trip. Roughly at the same time George sent me an urgent email asking for more money as he claimed prices had gone up. He requested the money be wired to a different bank than the original bank. the combination of urgency, more money, different bank seemed like the classic scam maneuver, confirming that we should cancel our trip and ask for 75% of our deposit back as per the contract. We then emailed him requesting the refund and he assured us that we would have it in 60 days as per the contract. When 60 days passed and we had not received anything we requested an update on the refund. He said he needed another 60 days due to the war in Iran. It has now been a total of 150 days and he has stopped responding to our emails.
We were excited to do an African safari, however being scammed has soured us on going to Kenya and Tanzania.

From Dream to Reality – 15 Days Across Kenya, Tanzania & Zanzibar
It started as a simple search for an African safari that would fit a family experience. After going through a few options, we came across the RIGHT choice website and decided to reach out via WhatsApp. That is where we got George, and honestly, he made everything feel easy from the very beginning. He listened, advised, adjusted things where needed, and built a plan that matched exactly what we had in mind.
The journey began in Kenya, where the safari experience already felt special. Maasai Mara gave us unforgettable game drives with plenty of wildlife sightings in open savannahs. From there, the route continued into Tanzania, where Serengeti and Ngorongoro did not disappoint. The movement between parks was smooth, and the experience inside the parks felt natural, with good animal sightings without heavy crowds.
Everything was well arranged—accommodation, transport, and timing all worked perfectly. The pricing was also very reasonable for the full experience, especially considering the distance covered and the number of days.
After the safari circuit, we flew into Zanzibar, and the whole pace of the trip changed beautifully. Nungwi Beach was calm, relaxing, and exactly what we needed after the game drives. Stone Town gave a deeper cultural touch, full of history and character. The visit to Turtle Island was another highlight, and the beach time in Zanzibar was just perfect to close the journey.
By the time the trip ended, it did not feel like just a holiday, but a complete experience across Africa—from wildlife to culture to the ocean.

Do Not Trust RIGHT CHOICE SAFARIS Law Suite in Kenya Court: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqvQbmB_jVo
DO NOT TRUST RIGHT CHOICE SAFARIS - George. We were 20 people travelling from USA for 15 day Safari tour of Kenya, Tanzania and Zanzibar. The tour package including everything, accommodation, food, drivers, cursers, park fees, all the daily drives and 3 days of Zanzibar resort stay, except of international flights was agreed and we made the deposit in January of 2025. Two weeks before our tour started on Aug. 17th 2026 we had paid the balance for all 20 in full which was confirmed by Right Choice with paid in full receipt. The total paid was over $120000 with some extra nights of stay that we requested. The BAD experience starts with this company on arrival in Nairobi we were all picked up and transported to the assigned hotel. The night before on Aug. 16th takes to his office as I was the lead of the group and throws an unexpected surprise saying I owe him $6000 more. It was a total surprise as we had made the full payment for the balance to him two weeks before. He threatened if I don't pay he will cancel the tour putting me in helpless situation with 20 of us already paid for the air fair and tour and arrived in Nairobi already. After 2 hours of arguments and not having any documents to show him as he surprisingly without notice took me to his office I ended up paying George $6000 with my CC. That night he had promised to treat all of us to a dinner at some restaurant he had made arrangements for us. I had asked him if he is going to be there too and he said of course. I went back to the group and told a few people what just happened to me in his office. We all went to the dinner location but George was no where to be found. The restaurant manager told us he would not be able to make it so we all went to the assigned table. Come to ordering the drinks we asked the waitress if the drinks were included in the arrangements they made with George and she checked with the manager and said yes they were included. Just toward the middle of dinner I get a call from George and he said I only offered to dinner and not the drinks. This is another bad choice of George not to be there to host and also not clarifying it with the restaurant. After another back and forth with George for 45 minutes to an hour the restaurant manager was kind enough to say that they will short it out with George and not to worry about the drinks bill. Next morning Aug. 17th the Safari tour started and we were all on our way all good. The drivers were good as I knew them from my previous tours with them. Now on Aug. 25th we were at Tanzania border all cleared through immigration and ready to load into the Tanzania Cruisers. One of the driver Roger comes to me and said we need to pay $12055for the park fees as George has not paid the park fees and until it is paid they cannot take us ( The park fees were included in our package and was paid to George in Full as part of the balance payment). What a disaster at this point for two hours of going back and forth with George and the Tanzania driver also involving Irene Katuma, Deputy Director of N. America Kenya Tourism Board, after she had talked to George and George agreed that it was his mistake for asking us all this extra payment. He gave me in writing that due to his financial difficulties he was not able to pay and he will refund all the total funds of $6000 that he took on Aug. 16th and the Tanzania park fees of $12055 back. Upon advise from Irene Katuma, Deputy Director to pay the $12055 now and continue with the Safari in Tanzania and Zanzibar and George will refund the full amount back when he meets us in Arusa. I paid the $12055 by my CC and found out the payment was made to his partner company Raven Safaris Company LTD with whom we had no direct communications or agreements for this safari. We went on with the Safari almost after 3 hours of arguments from the parking lot of Immigration office. There were other glitches here where he split few of us and put us in different inferior lodges outside the park so that he did not had to pay the park fees like the lodges in the park and we had to leave the park by 6.30 pm where the other group that stayed in the park can enjoy evening Safari after 6,30 pm. Our tour completed on Aug. 30th and every one went to their destination. George never showed up in Arusa to pay the overcharged amount. After arriving in US I emailed him and asked for the refund to my CC he said it is better for him to do wire transfer to my bank so I gave him my bank info. Till to date I have not seen a penny from him. He stopped responding. I put a CC dispute for both the charges. It has been since October till March 2027 the dispute was going back and forth between the CC company and George's bank. Even after proving all the documents to the CC company Citi Bank which I think did not make an honest attempt to resolve the matter as some outsourced agent had called me once to discuss and said the few copies that I sent were not legible which was not true. I sent those copies again in much legible form and never heard back from them. Finally few weeks ago Citi Bank sends a letter saying the dispute is closed and it went in George's favor for whatever reason. In conclusion I would like for the future customers of Right Choice to know and not fall in this trap because once you are in Nairobi you are at his mercy. I have lost $18055 (plus the CC fees) with Right Choice Safaris because I trusted George and fall fall all his false promises. Talking to the drivers I found out that Lately George had this same issues with other clients too and same information was given to me by some of the management lodges that the clients will come to the lodge but there was no payment made by George. I just saw few people's review at the end of 2025 and they had similar experience with George. Also there is a LAW SUIT against him on Feb 17th 2026 here is the link
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqvQbmB_jVo
This man is a repeat offender of crime and stealing money from his clients, I am surprised how the Kenya Government, Tourism board of Kenya and the police is still letting him do business in Kenya.

Right Choice is a scam
Avoid this agency at all costs.
We hired Right Choices for our two-week honeymoon starting on November 20, 2025. We had fully paid the entire trip 30 days in advance.
During our third day in Masai Mara, George contacted us saying he had a problem with the Tanzania operator and asked us to pay an additional USD 5,000, promising to reimburse us later. This was completely unexpected and impossible for us.
Later that same day, before going on a game drive, a park officer informed us that we could not leave the parking area because our agency had not paid the park fees (USD 1,200), which were clearly included in the safari we had already paid for.
When we contacted George, his responses were unclear and inconsistent. He minimized the amounts, asked us to “solve it like gentlemen,” asked us to pay everything, then said he would fix it—asking for more and more time, without resolving anything.
The next day we were supposed to continue to Tanzania, but we could not even leave the hotel area without paying the outstanding fees. George became unreachable for hours. We were completely on our own.
We were forced to pay the park fees ourselves and return to Nairobi, ending our honeymoon one full week early. When we contacted the hotels that George had said were booked in Tanzania, all reservations were canceled.
This was the worst experience of our lives. Our honeymoon was completely ruined.
To this day, George has not refunded a single dollar—neither for the extra payments we had to make nor for the services in Tanzania that were never provided.

Amazing experience
We had an amazing trip to Kenya and Tanzania with Right Choice!
We wanted to tweak the original itinerary and George was very accommodating of this. Communication from George was excellent throughout the planning process, and once we arrived, everything ran seamlessly. All transport and accommodations were spot-on — we didn’t have to worry about a thing.
Our guide in Kenya, Jacob, was truly outstanding. I hadn’t realised just how important it is to have an experienced and skilled guide, but after travelling with Jacob, it’s now the number one thing I’d ask about when booking a safari. His driving skills were exceptional — both on the roads and in the challenging off-road conditions of the Masai Mara. While we saw many other vehicles getting stuck, Jacob was often the one helping them out! He was also incredibly tuned in to wildlife sightings, always active on the radio and quick to respond when something was spotted nearby. Not only that, but he consistently found the perfect vantage points to park the jeep for the best possible views and photos. His expertise and calm confidence made our safari experience unforgettable.
The vehicles provided were excellent — sturdy, comfortable Land Cruisers in both Kenya and Tanzania. The transition across the border was smooth and well-handled, and our Tanzanian guide, Raja, was very friendly and professional. We enjoyed that portion of the safari just as much, and the wildlife and landscapes in both countries were absolutely breathtaking.
We ended our trip with a few days in Zanzibar, staying at Blue Bay Hotel, which was a fantastic way to relax and unwind after the safari. The hotel was beautiful and the beach setting was idyllic.
This was a once-in-a-lifetime trip, made even more special by the people who made it happen. Highly recommended!

Jambo davytrav_,
We truly appreciate your kind feedback! It's always a pleasure to hear when our customers enjoy their experience. Your positive words mean a lot to our team, who works hard to provide the best possible service.
Our team works hard to ensure every customer has an exceptional experience, and it’s wonderful to know we’ve succeeded in doing so for you. We are happy Jacob delivered 5 star guiding experiences. Indeed, nothing is more important to your safari experience than being in the company of a knowledgeable, caring and sensitive guide. Of course, you want your guide to be an expert on the wildlife and flora, to read the bush, and know how to find that elusive leopard or pride of lions which Jacob did perfectly!
Thanks atone for recognizing the guiding skills from our Tanzania guide, Raja. He equally performed well the entire Tanzania segments. Behind the scenes - George and the Team - were keyboard wizards. Every time you sent a question - a helpful reply would appear in our inbox quickly. Super responsive, kind, and always on time.
Your feedback motivates us to continue delivering the best experience possible. We look forward to your next visit and can't wait to continue serving you!

Right choice? Not really...
TLDR:
-1 star for lack of transparency and poor communication
-1 star for 5 nights of downgraded lodgings but only 3 nights of upgrades later in the trip. Would have rather had 5 nights of better comfort.
We booked a 15 day safari trip in Kenya and Tanzania through Right Choice. Initially, George was very responsive and seemed very organized, and that was why we chose to book with him. We were not happy with the lodging but were mostly happy with the guide and driver we had.
For lodgings, we noticed that George stopped being responsive once we started asking for hotel confirmations to apply for the Kenya ETA. After a few weeks of following up, he finally sent us a confirmation for just the first night in Nairobi, and nothing for the remaining nights.
After we started the safari, the guide drove past the accommodation on our itinerary, and we were only informed of the lodging change at that point. There was zero communication from George himself, even though we had been in contact for other questions. The lodging in Amboseli was a significant downgrade (farther from the park and worse than most budget hostels in other parts of the world). The three of us were also stuffed into one tent even though we paid for 2 rooms. We tried to communicate with George and he just freaked out and shut down. The lodge manager was also pressuring us to stay even though we were clearly unhappy and wanted to move to a place that was equivalent to the place we were promised on the itinerary. George was no help there and dealing with him and the lodge manager cut into our game drive times.
When George finally responded again, we discovered that all of our lodgings in the Kenya portion were downgraded from the original itinerary. We had to be very forceful in our communication and even then, we only got 1 night of our original lodging back at Lake Naivasha. He then promised to upgrade us in Zanzibar to a 5 star all inclusive resort for 3 nights.
At this point, I started reaching out to the lodgings myself to confirm the bookings and found out that for the 3 nights in Masai Mara, the price difference was over $300 USD per person per night between what we were promised on the itinerary vs. where we actually stayed.
We had to confront George with all the information again and then he told us he was going to upgrade us for 2 nights in the Serengeti and 1 night in Tarangire, and that he was unable to upgrade in Zanzibar. However, based on the photos from Google reviews, I'm not sure how much the upgrade really was, but it was too exhausting to continue to deal with him. And at the end of the day, we would have rather just had the 5 nights of our original lodging for better comfort.
There may have been availability issues but George never told us anything. It also didn't seem like he was proactive with correcting the issues - we don't think that he would have upgraded us later if we hadn't called him out on the price differences. It was not fun to have to reach out to various lodgings while on safari drives to advocate for ourselves.
The guide & driver in Kenya were contracted out to a different company, but they were sociable and nice. The guide could have given more explanations for the animals we saw, and point out interesting things along the way like the guides we had later on. However, they did work hard to find animals inside the parks and gave us many great photo opportunities. Our guide helped us with communications when we had trouble reaching George, and was also nice enough to let us visit his home when we asked. We really enjoyed meeting his family and his wife gave a great tour of a traditional Maasai household (much better and thorough than the tourist trap that people get taken to).
The Tanzania portion of the trip was organized through different affiliate partners for the safari portion and Zanzibar portion. The Tanzania part of the trip went pretty well but I feel like most of the credit should be given to those respective companies. George didn't even give us the Zanzibar contact until we arrived at the airport.

Dear D3535FJannad
Thank you for your review.
I’m so sorry. We’re normally known for our exceptional attention to detail, and we regret that we missed the mark. Let me start my remarks with the eTA online application requirements. One hotel confirmation voucher was just OK for this exercise. The issue of not having the confirmed vouchers was not in bad faith.
Yes, the Sungura camp in Amboseli was not in the itinerary..
This camp is located outside the park just like other mid range outfits in Amboseli. I want to categorically say, there is no price difference between the two camps.
Due to unavailability at Kibo camp, we managed securing two rooms at Sungura camp and fully PAID for two nights. The sleeping arrangements you got were frustrating and unacceptable. The camp manager was not helpful neither did he denied Right choice paid for two rooms were paid. I hope you will give them a befitting review too!
I think this camp was overbooked as there were many tourist during your visit. To say it was worse more than most budget hostels in other parts of the world is an overstretch to the imagination of this online community.
The rest of your trip covered Lake Naivasha, Masai mara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire and Zanzibar.
Following the bad experience in Amboseli, I promised compensation by way of upgrades where possible.
Accommodation in Lake Naivasha retained as per the itinerary (Lake Naivasha Sopa resort)
Accommodation in Masai Mara moved to Talek Bush camp following unavailability at Zebra Plains. The two camp offers a various sizes of double & single tents. The Talek camps enjoys great location. In terms of cost, honestly there were some savings which I promised to throw into upgrades as the journey progresses.
In Serengeti.
Itinerary accommodation was Heritage Serengeti.
Upgrade to Suenos De Africa luxury camp
Itinerary accommodation in Ngorongoro crater was Ngorngoro Rhino lodge. This was retained.
Itinerary accommodation in Tarangire was Tarangire Simba lodge. Upgrade to Tarangre sopa lodge.
Itinerary accommodation in Zanzibar was Nungwi Dreams By mantis. This was retained.
I kept my promise.
After several WhatsApp messages reassuring you about the accommodation status, you still went a head to make direct calls to the said lodges which was not bad. I really sympathize with all the energy you spent on these calls which was not necessary.
I was equally overwhelmed with calls from the lodges/camp asking me why our clients were making such calls. I got rattled and opted to go slow with any communication with you. Since you already had developed trust issues with me, the best I could do was to remain calm and get vindicated at the end of the trip.
On the communication aspect of this review, I sincerely apologize. This was a very let down from my corner. I promise to improve and do more on this area. I missed on telling you small logistical information like this tour will be run by Right choice safaris in Kenya and affiliate partner in Tanzania. In Zanzibar you will be met by Mr. son & so and more importantly, the changes on accommodation should have been communicated to you in good time.
It's a standard practice. All tours covering Kenya and Tanzania are run by two companies since Kenya vehicles are not allowed to access the Tanzania national parks. My representative in Zanzibar met your party upon arrival at the airport. All the transfers on arrival and departure days were done accordingly.
We’re so glad that our diver guides met your needs and thank you for your kind words.
Please know that your situation was an exception. As you can see on other reviews, we are known for taking ownership and caring deeply about our customers. We can’t fix the past but you have my personal commitment to improve on the way we serve every customer. Until then, please accept my sincerest apologies on behalf of everyone here at Right choice safaris.

Unforgettable experience with nature
We arrived at the company recommended by a friend and would definitely recommend it again. Everything has been excellent, from trip planning, to the safari experience and accompaniment throughout the stay. Guides John and Steve have been the best! With them we discover the nature of Amboselli, Masai Mara and Serengeti. If you want to do a safari in Kenya and Tanzania, you have to do it with Right Choice!

Amazing bucket list safari experience!!
We absolutely loved our 15 day Kenya, Tanzania, & Zanzibar holiday booked through Right Choice! It was so hard to sift through all the tour companies and options out there, but not only did the itinerary work so well for us, but the value was awesome and it was actually how good the trip advisor reviews were that sold me! Our Kenya guide, Jacob, was so knowledgable and helpful! He honestly made our trip and safari!! The owner, George, was very quick to respond to our emails and requests.
At the Kenya/Tanzania border we were met by another company, Raven Safaris, who is partners with Right Choice to complete the Tanzania portion of the safari. Our guide, Rajabu, was fabulous as well!
A few things to note for to future travelers:
1. We didn't know we'd have the whole safari car to ourselves the entire time, we just thought the transfers between the spots were private but we would be in a group setting for the game drives -- this is not the case! You have a private vehicle for the duration of your trip! We only packed soft duffles and backpacks because that was what all the blog posts said, but since we had much more room we could have saved our backs a bit and done wheeled luggage. The flight from Arusha to Zanzibar also didn't care about wheeled luggage.
2. You have the same guide everyday you are in Kenya and different guide for your whole portion in Tanzania (not including Zanzibar). This was actually really nice to have the same person with us for multiple days, we weren't sure if we were going to have different people in each location when we booked!
3. A lot of blog posts warned us about tsetse flies and only wearing neutral earth colored clothing -- tsetse flies were only in Tanzania (not a thing around Kenya I guess) and we really didn't need to buy as much neutral safari clothing as we did.
Overall my husband and I highly recommend this trip - it was truly a once in a lifetime experience for us and we are so thankful to Right Choice & Raven Safaris for making it such a pleasurable experience!

Incredible experience not to be missed
We were a family of 8 and we we did the classic Kenya, Tanzania with Zanzibar beach holiday with Right Choice. It was an incredible trip, put together perfectly by George and his staff. We did customize this a little bit to stretch it to 17 days and it worked great for us. We had 2 safari vehicles with 4 people in each vehicle. To list the high points, it starts with George. He is awesome in what he does right from understanding what our needs and expectations are, gives us very insightful recommendations, and works with us patiently until he puts together a perfect plan. He is very accommodating and very responsive to any questions/changes we have. I contacted about 8 tour operators to get estimates for the same itinerary. George and his company provided the best value for the money by a far distance. If you are on the fence about deciding on the tour operators, by going with Right Choice tours and safaris, be assured that you are making the RIGHT CHOICE.
Read on if you are interested in further detailed review.
Our tours started off in Nairobi. Joshua and Simon were our tour guides for the Kenyan segment. Both were excellent guides, very courteous and caring. They had a great sense of humor and they blended with us seamlessly like they were a part of the family. Their knowledge and experience in spotting the animals, explaining about their habitat, and getting to the right spots to get a great view of the animals was outstanding. Our day 1 was visiting the Elephant orphanage, Giraffe center, and then a welcome dinner at Carnivore. It was great to kick off the trip on a very positive note. All accommodations chosen were great and the food service at these lodges was very very good, perhaps the best of the places we have been to and we have traveled to a lot of destinations.
As I mentioned above, George discusses with you regarding your needs with respect to accommodation and gets the best value for your money. Some of the places we stayed were absolutely gorgeous, far exceeding our expectations. There is not one place where I would say I do not want to stay there again. We visited Amboseli, Lake Naivasha, and Masaai Mara. We saw all kinds of animals some of them really up close. Joshua and Simon ensured we had a very good experience on every game drive we went on. We got to see only 3 among the top 5 in Kenyan segment and this had nothing to do with the guides but just the fact that we were not lucky enough. Overall a great experience in Kenya. We then moved on to Tanzania segment where our tour guides were Chambuso and Ally. Chambuso was an excellent spotter, It always amazed us how he was able to spot some animals while he was driving. He was kind and courteous and a very good driver. They were punctual and worked with us to ensure excellent game drives. Here in Tanzania, we visited Lake Victoria, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire national park. We saw a huge herd of Lions and all sorts of animals including a sea of Wildebeests. We also spotted Leopards and Rhinos which completed our Big 5 spotting. Again accommodations were top class and we saw some amazing views of sunrise/sunsets, and amazing views of the savannah. Ngorongoro is a special place and not to be missed. We then flew into Zanzibar with incredible white sand beaches. We stayed in Blue Bay resort which was excellent, with very spacious rooms and excellent staff led by Group general manager Dass Bangar. Dass made sure our incredible vacation ended on a very high note.
Overall, an incredible experience and we have wonderful memories to last a lifetime. All this went amazingly well because of George and his company. Asante Sana George!!! I am more than happy to be a reference for any of your prospective clients.
When we decide to come back, Right Choice will be OUR ONLY CHOICE!!!
