An Unforgettable Journey Through Southeastern Türkiye
I first booked with Serendipity Tours two years ago because the itinerary included Mount Nemrut, a place I had always wanted to visit. I had to cancel, but when I unexpectedly had a free week, I discovered that Fazli was leading a seven-day tour from Cappadocia through southeastern Türkiye, including Göbekli Tepe, Karahan Tepe, and Mount Nemrut.
The trip exceeded my expectations. Every day brought fascinating history, remarkable landscapes, and places I knew very little about. Göbekli Tepe and Karahan Tepe were especially memorable, but Mount Nemrut was the highlight. After waiting two years to see it, standing among the ancient stone heads was worth every step of the climb.
Fazli made the experience even better. His knowledge is impressive, but his real strength is the enthusiasm and warmth with which he shares it. He brought the history to life and helped us appreciate not only the archaeological sites, but also the region’s culture, traditions, food, and people.
The accommodations were comfortable and thoughtfully chosen, and the local meals—including the baklava Fazli called the best in the world—were wonderful. Just as memorable were the friendships formed within our group.
I’ve traveled widely, but this journey stands out as one of my favorites. I returned home with a deeper appreciation for southeastern Türkiye, wonderful memories, and a strong desire to come back.
Fazli is an exceptional guide and a genuinely kind person. I highly recommend Fazli and Serendipity Tours, and I hope this was not my last adventure with them.

A fantastic way to really experience Türkiye! If only there were more than 5 stars. 🤩
I’ve just returned from travelling through Türkiye with Fazli and Serendipity Tours and had a more than brilliant experience.
We covered a huge amount of the country, from Istanbul through western Türkiye, Cappadocia and then down into Gaziantep, Mount Nemrut, Şanlıurfa, Göbekli Tepe, Karahan Tepe and Harran.
What I loved about travelling with Fazli is that he doesn’t just point things out and give you a few dates. He has a deep knowledge of the history, archaeology, religion and culture of the places you’re visiting, and has a way of joining all the pieces together so you start to understand how one place relates to another. It made us feel like we were a part of the story!
I’m a professional photographer, so I tend to be just as interested in what happens between the major sights as I am in the sights themselves. Fazli was particularly good at that. Some of my favourite moments came from little side streets, markets, local restaurants, roadside stops and places I would never have found on my own.
A trout farm lunch in the mountains ended up being one of the most memorable meals of the trip. The markets in Gaziantep were fantastic. Şanlıurfa had an atmosphere all of its own. Harran was a real surprise. And having Fazli explain places like Göbekli Tepe and Karahan Tepe made a huge difference to the experience.
The hotels were also very well chosen. A couple of the more characterful ones were far more memorable than staying in a generic international hotel would have been, and Fazli had clearly put a lot of thought into the flow of the whole journey. I would say a masterfully curated experience, rather than just a tour.
He also looks after people very well. After a few days you stop feeling like a client and start feeling more like a guest and a friend. He knows where to eat, who to speak to, how to sort things out and when to make a small change to improve the day. There was never a feeling of being constantly sold extras or hit with surprise costs either.
There were plenty of highlights, like ballooning over Cappadocia, climbing Mount Nemrut, the food, the markets, the people and the southeast in general, but I think what I came away with most was a much better understanding of Türkiye as a country. That, for me, is the difference between simply being shown somewhere and being properly guided through it.
And in my case, I suspect this won’t be the last journey we do together. I would have no hesitation recommending Serendipity Tours.
Bravo Fazli & the Team! 👏👏

Great Experience
Thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Fazli. His organisation and planning were excellent, Fazli was fully aware of client needs, eg; comfort breaks when travelling. Apart from personal expenditures, ie; lunches, drinks with meals, souvenirs, etc. everything was included in the price, ie; there were no hidden extras. Travelling with Fazli was like being with a good friend even though this was the first time we had met him.

The best tour comapny in Turkey
There is no better Tour Guide than Fazli. His knowledge, time in the business and locations deemed to be seen are right for the tour. The other people on my tour as a group were just the right people to be with and thanks to our guide for seeing the benifit of having us together. The resturants, the hotels, the lunch stops, the driver for our tour were absolutely the best.
My tour was with a small group and I would suggest this tour for maximum experience. If you are wondering if a tour of Turkey is the right one for you, when you make up your mind, go with Serendipity, no if's and's or buts. And tell them I sent you :)

Flawless Logistics and World‑Class Insight from a Passionate Tour Leader
This trip was exceptional from start to finish — world‑class sites, seamless logistics, great food, and a truly outstanding guide, Fazli Karabacak.
Traveling in a small group made a huge difference. There was none of the “hurry up and wait” you get with larger tours. I only joined for 11 of the 14 days due to other plans, and Fazli adapted everything without missing a beat. Every transfer was handled smoothly, and we never had a single issue.
Each day included one or two major archaeological sites, ranging from pre‑agricultural settlements to classical and early Christian locations. Standing in places tied to the Iliad and the Bible — places I’ve only ever seen in documentaries — was surreal. Fazli’s historical context at every stop elevated the experience far beyond a typical tour.
Ephesus was the highlight for me. I’ve always wanted to see Rome outside the Italian core, and Fazli’s explanation of the city’s layout and design gave me a level of immersion I didn’t expect. That site alone exceeded my expectations, but honestly the entire trip did. There was so much to see, read, and think about.
We stayed in 8 or 9 different hotels over 11 nights. All were clean, comfortable, and well‑located. Cocktails aren’t really a thing in Türkiye, but the beer and wine were excellent.
Two non‑archaeological stops deserve special mention:
A master potter’s workshop — yes, it’s a store, but it might as well be a museum. The craftsmanship was incredible.
A rug atelier — the quality and artistry were jaw‑dropping. You could spend hours just admiring the work.
The hospitality, cleanliness, and natural beauty of Türkiye were remarkable. We covered over 1,000 km of countryside and towns, and everywhere we went was verdant, welcoming, and full of history. Ruins and antiquities are simply everywhere.
My wife chose Türkiye, and I’m so glad she did. We will absolutely be back — and we both agreed we would take this exact same tour again. It was that good.

Trip of a Lifetime Tour of Turkiye
3 weeks later we are still basking in the glow of the amazing Treasures of Turkey tour we took with Serendipity Tours. I can say without a doubt that this was the best trip I have taken in my many, well traveled, years. The itinerary is beautifully crafted to visit the UNESCO sites that were at the top of my priority list. Every day was an exciting adventure. What made this trip so special were the exceptional guide and driver team. Our guide, Ceylan Tuna, was everything I could have hoped for; extremely knowledgeable (she has a degree in archeology), warm, personable, caring, with a great sense of humor and so much fun to be with. The driver, Fevsi, was so kind and attentive. He made sure we were well hydrated, comfortable and well looked after. He is also a great foodie, picking all our lunch spots and, through example, pointing out what was the best thing to eat. Every single moment was carefully curated to ensure our comfort, safety and enjoyment of this amazing country. We will treasure our memories of these two magical weeks with Ceylan and Fevsi in beautiful Turkiye.

Fantastic Tour, Fazli Excellent.
We recently undertook a 2 week tour with Fazli of Serendipity Tours in Turkey. Turkey has some spectacular scenery and ancient sites and Fazli was able to tell us all about it. He is an expert in all aspects of Turkey and extremely knowledgeable. He and the driver knew exactly where to go and when to get there. He is also a very pleasant person who is willing to help if you struggle with difficult terrain. We would highly recommend Fazli to anyone who wishes to tour Turkey. In fact, we would say don’t even consider anyone else. He will take you to all the bests spots then a lot more that others don’t even know exist. Fazli adjusts to his guests’ needs and knows when and where to stop for toilets etc. We would highly recommend him for any Turkey tours.

Fabulous tour of Istanbul and western Turkey
We had the most amazing time on this tour. Fazli, the company owner/operator, guided us around the historic sites of Istanbul and western Turkey. He is extremely professional and knowledgeable taking time to provide lots of information, sharing stories and historical facts and making sure that we were always comfortable, well informed and enjoying ourselves. We booked this tour as it was recommended by friends who we shared the tour with. The most important for us was that it's a small group tour of a max of 8 people, which makes it very personal and much more enjoyable. The tour covered 3,000 kms over the two weeks so there is a fair amount of driving. The mini-van was very comfortable and air-conditioned, water was provided, the driver was very helpful and the days were always broken up by lots of comfort stops and breaks to see other things along the way. This was an in-depth tour taking us to some amazing places in comfort and we highly recommend it. Fazli was a fantastic guide and travel leader, thanks so much, we had such as great time. We are looking forward to joining you on your eastern tour of Turkey.

The best experience
A memorable trip. Fasli is a great guide and made it very worthwhile - attending to all my needs and questions. I would not hesitate in recommending his tours. Highlights of the tour for me was visiting Göbekli Tepe and Karahan Tepe and Mount Nemrut.
