Exceptional Family Tour of China with TravelChinaGuide We booked a family tour of China through TravelChinaGuide in May, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. From our very first enquiry through to the final booking, Emily was incredibly helpful, responsive, and professional. She patiently guided us through the various tour options, provided valuable suggestions, and ensured the booking process was seamless. Even after the reservation was confirmed, all our questions and requests were addressed promptly and efficiently. Upon arrival in Beijing, we were warmly welcomed by our guide and transferred smoothly to our hotel. The hotel check-in process was effortless, setting the tone for a well-organized journey ahead. Our tour group consisted of 17 travellers from different countries, creating a wonderful and enjoyable atmosphere throughout the trip. The tour coach was spacious and comfortable, and all the hotels were of a high standard, conveniently located near major attractions. The local guides in each city were knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about sharing China’s rich history and culture. They brought every destination to life and made the sightseeing experiences both informative and engaging. The drivers were equally professional, ensuring safe and comfortable travel throughout the tour. One aspect that particularly impressed us was the seamless coordination of intercity travel. Whether travelling by high-speed train or domestic flight, every transfer was handled flawlessly. We were escorted to our departures and warmly received by the next guide upon arrival, making the entire process stress-free. The itinerary was thoughtfully planned, combining iconic sights, fascinating cultural experiences, excellent traditional meals, and spectacular shows. As a vegetarian family, we greatly appreciated the care and attention given to our dietary preferences throughout the journey. China is a vast, diverse, and beautiful country, and thanks to TravelChinaGuide and Emily, our first visit was truly memorable. We returned home with wonderful memories and would highly recommend their services to anyone planning a trip to China.

The 3 day Zhangjiajie tour with Yolin was magnificent. The beauty of the mountains, the bridge, the cables, escalators, elevators, boat ride will stay in our memory forever. Our guide was kind, patient, offered solutions over long lines and explained local customs and life. Tasting the local cuisine in special restaurants was also a treat thanks to Yolin.

Xi’an was the second city of the small tour to China with Travel China Guide. I can’t recommend enough our tour guide Lily. Her kindness, her promptness and her guidance were amazing. Her knowledge of the history behind the Terracotta Army and the story of Emperor Qin Shi Huang brought the entire experience to life in a way we never could have appreciated on our own. We also really appreciated the attention to detail, from helping us navigate crowds to giving us helpful tips and making sure our departure to the next destination was smooth.

There is no way we could have done all the sights of Beijing and the Great Wall without our efficient and knowledgeable tour guide Kitty. “Follow Kitty” and you will avoid the immense crowds and experience in the best way all the treasures of Beijing.

Generally the guides we had were good. For Xi’an we had Roger who was exceptionally knowledgeable about the rich history of the area and eager to share that with us and had an excellent command of English. For ZJJ we had Oscar who was always enthusiastic and energetic. He took many great photos and videos of us especially at Tianmen mountain and it’ll be nice to look back on those in future. He also kindly gifted us some Meicha after I remarked that I wanted to buy some. Would recommend them both. Trip wise, due to scheduling reasons we could only do the trip the week before CNY, so we knew queues and crowds would be bad and it was actually a lot worse than we expected. The amount of security and bag checks at the attractions worsened the whole experience on top of the stress of the crowds. The worst part of the trip was the journey from Xi’an to Zhang Jia Jie. There were no flights and the alternative of a train to Chang Sha, then be driven from the train station to the airport to then catch another flight to ZJJ after a long wait was not great. For one, the degree of pollution in Changsha was absolutely shocking and significantly worse than Beijing and Xi’an. And the long wait at the overcrowded, cigarette smoke filled station was horrendous. All that and we didn’t even get to ZJJ till late at night so had wasted the whole day anyway. The agency should have advised us to take the 8-9h direct train instead as the train + flight option was worse — way more stressful, more costly (and so we had to top up), and we still wasted the whole day in the end.

Maggie was our guide for 3 days in Beijing.She was really excellent.Extremely helpfull and imparted her vast knowledge of the area to us in a very professional friendly manner.We would highly recommend this tour.
