Sebastiian, one of the owners, met us at the start of our day and discussed the days itinerary. Then Vincente, a Puenta Arenas born Chilean, took us to places most tours don’t go, with some great viewpoints on the hills surrounding the city. We were on e-bikes, and had a blast. He didn’t have a “scripted” description, and I think he matched his commentary to our interests. One of the best bike tours we’ve taken on any continent.
Sebastian & Vicente welcomed us to the bike tour just off the pier along the waterfront. They had very nice E-Bikes & Mountain bikes in good shape & working order to use. They explained the history of the area first before embarking on our journey. We rode to the South of town before heading up into the small hills above the city with stops that offed picturesque views down to the waterfront & our ship docked at the pier. At different stops they’d explain the highlights and & let us absorb the views. We then headed down to the main Plata & statue of Magellan . Beautiful area around the square. We then headed North along a charming bike path all the way to “Sandy Point” (Punta Arenas) and it was a lovely lined boulevard. Then, turned back along the waterfront, at Sandy Point, past a huge sexton that represented a device the old sailors used. Most of the 12-13 mile ride was on relatively flat terrain and 75% was on bike lanes.Sebastian & Vicente guided for the entire ride and were wonderful. I highly recommend this excursion if visiting Punta Arenas!
What a great day with great guides. Sebastian and Vincente were so friendly and knowledgeable and took great care of us 6 more mature customers. We saw the full range of sights and covered a large area of the town, all with a great friendly vibe. Would definitely recommend this tour if you have a day in town.
Sebastian and Francesco were totally awesome! Together their cordial hospitality, knowledge, and professionalism made this a great experience! I recommend this team to those who want to get a little exercise, sightseeing, and learn about their history and culture. I also recommend a waterproof, thermal jacket, gloves, and or layering of clothing since the weather is ever changing in S. America.
We got to see all the important attractions of the city while biking safely on special paved bike lanes. The whole time, Sebastian outlined the history and significance of the monuments and buildings we saw while his assistant took pictures and videos while riding to capture every moment perfectly. I would highly recommend this tour.
Beautiful city in the very south of Chile! As the city is about to install more and more bike lanes it’s a great idea to explore it by bike! Sebastian did great on showing us his home town.
We had a great time on our bike tour. Sebastian was a great guide even though he kept saying his English was not good - it was very good. He was enjoyable and the bikes were very nice electric assist bikes.
Srsly, you need to check this out. Small local company founded by friends who grew up riding BMX together in the hills above Punta Arenas. They’ve flipped the script on the standard tour experience that treats a city like some sort of museum of official monuments and instead take you on a (literal) ride through the living streets of Punta Arenas, with stops to talk about local history, nature and art (both official and street) from its founding up to the present day. In terms of logistics, it was easy to meetup with the guides by the big Punta Arenas letters on the waterfront and get fitted for bikes (I rode a fixie, and my travel companion went for an e-bike to help with the hills). All safety gear like helmets and reflectors is included.
Albert, our guide, showed us around all of Punta Arenas. Not just the nice touristy spots, but the not so nice as well. He shared the history of the region with us and was very knowledgeable. We always felt safe during the tour. Albert was super with us and he did the best presenting Punta Arenas to us. My feeling however, is that this city is so-so... We did the tour only because the cruise stopped there. Good note to Sebastian, the owner. The bikes were the best we had in three 3 bicycle tours we did in our Antartica cruise...
This was an outstanding trip with Sebastian. We went to parts of the city, off the beaten path, learned about the history of the area, went to memorable viewpoints, got exercise, and we thought it was the best part of our journey to South America
