Biatek was our guide and he instantly felt like family. He took us through Old Town and the Jewish Quarter with the perfect mix of history, humor, and local flavor. Every stop was thoughtful, authentic, and absolutely delicious. Here were some of my favorite tastings from the night: • Pączek (pon-check) — the classic Polish doughnut • Obwarzanek krakowski (ob-vah-ZHAH-nek kra-KOFF-skee) — the iconic street bialy • Żurek — fermented rye soup with sausage and egg • Placki ziemniaczane — crispy potato pancakes, served with rich goulash (GOO-lahsh) • Zapiekanka — the beloved Soviet‑era open‑faced snack • And to top it all off: black currant–infused vodka, the perfect finish to the evening Advice: come hungry. This tour was fun, flavorful, and full of local insight. Biatek’s warmth and passion for Kraków made the experience unforgettable. Highly recommend.

Aleksandra was a fantastic guide - she was so energetic and enthusiastic about sharing stories, traditions and Polish customs. We were in town for a wedding, and she let us know what to expect. She was absolutely right! The food on the tour was delicious, and there was a nice mix of a food cart, two restaurants, and a traditional bakery. We did not feel surrounded by other tourist groups, but rather felt like we were dining with a friend from Krakow who was sharing her favorite places with us. Loved the experience!

We had the food tour with Alessandra on our first full day in Krakow. She was full of key information of Polish cuisine and stories about the Polish culture, including how Poles hold their thumbs as an expression of hoping for good luck. And what good luck we had with Alexsandra as our guide! She was thoughtful to take into account a gluten intolerance of one of us, and she made each one of us feel specially included. Tomasz was very well organised and very knowledgeable about local and national history. He provided an excellent tour of traditional Polish food and was happy to answer all our questions. The pace was relaxed and we found it an excellent way to acquaint ourselves with Krakow as first time visitors.

We really enjoyed the history behind the food and as well as the food. My favorite was the soup and the vodka tasting was lots of fun. We are very thankful Tomas was patient with our 5 kids.
