It was an incredible trip. Our guide Hiroshi was able to share a lot of background information and was also a very friendly and communicative person personally. We were a small group and everyone was looked after. The tour to Kamikochi is definitely worth it.
What a great tour! Went with my 10 and 12 year old and we had an amazing time. Our tour guide Hiroshi was very knowledgeable, friendly and happy to answer all of our questions. The timing of the tour was perfect. At no time did we feel as though we were rushed. At both Matsumoto and Kamikochi we were given a good amount of free time to explore the areas. I would definitely recommend this tour to families wanting to get out and explore while learning about the histories of the 2 areas.

Tow fabulous experiences in one day - Matsumoto Castle, one of only 12 original castles left in Japan, an astonishing construction and the stunning alpine valley walk of Kamikochi. Our guide, Sijung was excellent, very knowledgeable and helpful. This as our second tour with him, the first being 2 years ago and it was a pleasant surprise to have home guide us again.
Such a lovely experience! I was going to several places on my trip so I wanted a way to see kamikochi without worrying about the travel logistics myself. Even though it was a cloudy day, it was beautiful and the tour guide Shawn was super knowledgeable and friendly. Thanks for a great time!!
I booked this excursion on a whim for our family of three, and it ended up being the highlight of our trip to Japan. Even though it was a rainy day, we had so much fun exploring kamikochi and Matsumoto with our tour guide Kieron. Kieron was knowledgeable, friendly, and great with our 5 year old. We were truly sad to say goodbye to him at the end of our day. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone!

I had a wonderful day on this tour from Matsumoto to Kamikochi, Frog Street, and Matsumoto Castle. By chance, I ended up being the only person on the tour which made the experience feel special and personal. Kai, my guide, was fantastic. So kind, friendly, knowledgeable and personalised the tour to make sure I had a wonderful day. Kai went above and beyond throughout the tour, taking the time to answer questions and sharing interesting information and local insights along the way. Kamikochi was absolutely beautiful - a must do - Frog Street was a fun stop (especially if you’re seeking ceramics), and Matsumoto Castle was great.
Despite heavy rains and a closed road to Kamikochi, our day trip turned into an unforgettable adventure thanks to our incredible guide, Mr. Hiroshi, and our skilled driver. When the downpour forced a sudden change of plans, the team pivoted seamlessly and took us to the charming historic post town of Narai-jukualong the Nakasendo trail instead. Mr. Hiroshi's deep knowledge shone through as he brought the old houses to life and even treated us to an insightful extra tour of a local museum that wasn't part of our original itinerary. Meanwhile, our driver kept us safe and comfortable through heavy traffic and relentless rain. We highly recommend this team for their flexibility and expertise, and we will definitely return another time to finally see Kamikochi!
