Be cautious when booking with the Day Sail team in Hvar – your reservation may not be honored. We are a family with two children (ages 11 and 13) who booked a full-day (8-hour) sailing trip from Hvar months in advance. The day before the scheduled trip, the company cancelled on us, citing bad weather and concerns for our safety. They offered to reschedule for a later date, but that wasn’t possible as we were leaving Croatia the same day. When we asked which weather services they were referring to (so we could follow the forecasts ourselves), we received vague answers. They told us that local skippers ultimately decide whether to go out or not – which seemed reasonable at first. We spoke with the skipper the same morning and found out the boat was still going out – just on a shorter, half-day trip. It appeared that our tour had been cancelled in favor of these shorter excursions, possibly because our full-day trip wasn’t fully booked (the boat has a max capacity of 8). This felt dishonest and poorly handled. The company seemed more focused on maximizing profit than honoring its commitments. We eventually found a last-minute alternative after hours of searching, despite it being peak season. This itinerary was the same as the scheduled trip on the sailboat. Luckily, everything worked out in the end – but I would not recommend booking with this company unless you have a backup plan. Otherwise, you risk major disappointment.

Amazing day sailing with friends. Alexander went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. We were able to see all the sights and got the real sailing experience. 10/10 highly recommend.

We had a booking for 8 of us on the 27th August which meant that the boat was a private hire as the company caps at 8 people. Honestly, this was the highlight of our trip. Our skipper, Alex, was incredible - pointing the best swimming spots and embraced the birthday spirit of our boat trip. The swimming destinations were fantastic and not as busy as other trips we have been on. The restaurant we stopped at for lunch was slightly pricey but worth every penny as the truffle gnocchi was the best we have ever had. We were able to take food and drinks on board in addition to our stop for lunch and our trip was truly special. Don’t hesitate to book especially if you have a group of 8 and are looking for a great way to spend a day!

A day to stay in memory forever. Beautiful places, spectacular sea. Peter and Ana turned the guris into part of the crew, which we all love.

Had a wonderful day with family and friends motoring/sailing in the Pakleni islands. We made several stops in beautiful coves to swim and had a really special lunch at a very quaint restaurant along the way. Highly recommend this outing.
