Picked up on time by Vish and had a comfortable trip both ways. Contrary to some earlier reviews, the lunch stop had reasonable food options. The Jeep driver was good too and tried to find a leopard, we saw a fleeting glimpse of the rear of one in the trees.
It is a long day's travel, 4 hours each way from Colombo to the park entrance and a safari tour of 4 hours. Even without stopping for dinner on the return it was a 10pm finish.

Safari
Make sure you bring your own food because the stuff they give you was awful. Just a small row of dishes which was chicken curry and was tough as hell. No other choice and although they tell you entry to park costs extra, they dont tell you that its nearly 40 pound a head.

A great trip and tour guide
It was a great experience. The drive was long, about 4 hours each way and 4 hours in the park. Our driver was excellent, and his knowledge of the road was outstanding. The park ranger did a great job in pointing out animals to us.
I would do it again, but I would bring a lunch/dinner. There were very few western restaurants.

Great experience
Great tour . It was a long drive from Colombo but we were picked up at the port . We got to see a whole different side of Sri Lanka . We saw a variety of animals including a leopard . Now just one but two of them . Butterfly were everywhere. Saw water buffalo, elephant, toucan, peacock, crocodile and more .

Leopards and Bears Oh My !
Beautiful park. Lots to see but animals are never predictable. We were very fortunate to see two leopards at the end of our tour. Say a bear, water buffaloes, deer and one elephant. Guides are knowledgeable and do heir best to find animals.
Our travel guide sat in the passenger seat and also helped plus was fluent in English.

Apple tours when we ask to have full day safari rather then 4hrs they allow us to customize and pickup us early hours in the morning it’s first impression from Niraveen
Driver reached us to our hotel at 3.30 am and drove us to Wilpattu with air conditioned mini van where we had comfortable nap until we reach the Wilpattu national park Jeep ready when we reached .
Aravinda the driver who give us some local fruits and king coconut we enter to the Wilpattu park by 7.30am. Jeep driver driver show us lot of pictures which is took by his DSLR our expectation are higher side then before
First 3 hrs we unable to locate any biggies only seen few birds afterwards driver took us to inside the park first place we had seen elephant then luckily bears finally leopards were on our front hunt the deer
Wilpattu national park undoubtedly is on of best safari to be enjoyed. Aravinda Wilpattu safari driver cum photographer who do his best to locates the animals

quiet park with many landscapes
we were very lucky and have seen a leopard, 2 bears, many deer and beautiful birds! but the scenery and tranquility were the most important. traveled from Anuradhapura. organized through our hotel.

Great Journey
It was a great adventure, will never forget the experience. It was raining on the day I travelled, so the Leopards didn't come out nonetheless, I saw Sri Lanka for what it truly is; magnificent.
