I had such an amazing experience with Japanese sencha. I learned about the history of tea and how subtle and delicate the Japanese tea ceremony can be. The cups of sencha I enjoyed were completely different from the ones I had had before. The café was so clean and beautifully surrounded by antique pieces that I felt as if I had been transported back to old Japan. I highly recommend this experience to anyone who is interested in learning more about Japanese tea culture.

We had the wonderful opportunity to experience both Sencha and Gyokuro tea ceremonies, and it was truly a memorable experience. Matcha tea ceremonies are quite easy to find in Japan, but Sencha and Gyokuro ceremonies are much less common, so we were especially excited to have the chance to experience them. At the beginning of the ceremony, we learned about the differences between Matcha and Sencha, as well as the history and traditions behind these tea ceremonies. We then enjoyed the beautiful tea utensils, the elegant and graceful tea preparation, and, of course, the wonderful taste of both Sencha and Gyokuro. Sencha is much more commonly enjoyed in everyday life than Matcha, so it was especially interesting and useful to learn how to brew and enjoy Sencha in the best way. What we loved most was that the experience was not only about tea. We also learned how to slow down, focus on the present moment, and appreciate the aroma, taste, and subtle beauty of the tea. It was a peaceful, elegant, and meaningful experience that allowed us to appreciate Japanese tea culture on a deeper level. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience something beyond the usual Matcha tea ceremony!

It was a very wonderful experience. Matcha is very popular, but I was able to learn the difference between matcha and Japanese tea. I was able to taste the real delicious Japanese tea. And I was able to relax and enjoy.

That was such a great experience. It definitely changed my perspective on teas. Compared to other kinds of tea, Sencha and Gyokuro is served intensively concentrated almost like espresso, and I was surprised at its rich but a delicate taste literally rolling on my tongue when I took a sip. Nothing to compare. The server's behavior was also like an art. Every movement he made showed us the beauty of culture traditionally passed down for over 1000 years. I highly recommend this experience especially for those who want to experience an authentic Japanese culture instead of ones watered down for tourists.

The class offered by Mr. Ichikawa was a wonderfully relaxing experience. Despite being located amid the hustle and bustle of central Kyoto, the space somehow felt remarkably peaceful and serene. While matcha is internationally famous, Sencha-do (the Way of Sencha) is a much rarer experience—even for many Japanese people. Experiencing this unique tradition while in Japan will give you a genuinely authentic glimpse into Japanese culture. If you’re considering it, I’d definitely recommend booking this experience!

We had a great tea experience there. The place was highly aesthetic and we had the best tea ever.

I had the opportunity to try a unique form of “sencha-do” (the way of steeped green tea) in a room within a building near the station—a space artfully created using various Japanese-style furnishings and utensils (with seating provided on chairs). I enjoyed a pleasant conversation with the host in an intimate setting. I get to taste two different types of tea, served in small portions that make it easy for anyone to try. you can savor the essence of the tea in every concentrated drop. It was a fascinating experience—a time to calmly center one’s spirit through tea. There is a certain allure to traditional culture that has been forgotten in modern times. I want not only people from abroad but also Japanese people themselves to experience it.

There are many kinds of tea in Japan. When people talk about tea ceremony and experience, they are usually talking about Macha. Here, is a different glimpse giving a unique experience than the Macha experience. The Saho (etiquette) and root in history how they flourished is different. The experience of Sencha do gave a deep taste of not only the tea but the back ground whilst the difference between Macha and historical background. Explained simply and easy to understand but yet the style and the manner looks simple while being a sophisticated and complex altogether, taking a dive to such experience may tint your journey in Japan. Have done tea ceremony (Macha) else where? Why not try Sencha experience located in the central part of Kyoto??
