Our driver Mark was great, very knowledgeable and informative. The whole trip was a great way to see various landscapes of Madeira west as he included so much in a single trip. Would definitely recommend this trip and hope to catch Mark for a trip to the East the next time..
A lovely way to see the island . Great guide in Patrick. Company need to sort out the air con in their vehicles ,it was not working properly so it made a hot day hotter.

I recently traveled to the lovely island of Madeira. Our trip included two tours, one of the West side of the island and one of the East side. We were fortunate to have Marco as our tour guide for both excursions. Marco was such a wonderful tour guide. He was knowledgeable, funny and welcoming. You can tell when someone loves what they do and where they are from. That is Marco! One reason for going to Madeira was to see and hike the Stairway to Heaven trail. Although this was not included in our package, Marco made it happen for us. Although there was a slight hiccup on that tour and we unfortunately were not taken to the Stairway to Heaven (no fault of Marco's) he made it right and actually took my friend and I himself! I can't say enough about this man. You made Madeira a memorable experience! Thank you Marco! I highly recommend booking your next tour/excursion with Marco at Spot Madeira Travel!
The tour was friendly and informative. We were given lots of time to do things on our own as well as all of the guidance we needed.
We booked our Madeira trip through Portugal Getaway and got lucky with Marco as our guide for the first two days of East and West Island tours. With 28 years of local experience, he knows everything about Madeira: history, culture, hidden gems. He made the first two days fun and informative. We came to Madeira mainly to hike the Stairway to Heaven. I'd been researching this trip for years. Marco was so helpful that we asked him to arrange a hiking tour, so he booked one through another company. The hiking group had about 20 people, led by Oscar. On the way, people asked if we were going to the Stairway. He said yes. But when we arrived on top of the mountain, he said no. Oscar lied to us, he said it was four hours away, but in reality it was only ten minutes away from where we were on the mountain. We were pretty disappointed. After years of planning, we missed the main attraction. We finished the hike and went back to the hotel. When I told Marco afterward, he was shocked. He offered to take us on a private tour the very next day so we could finally see the Stairway to Heaven. That meant a lot. Marco turned a disappointing situation into a highlight. Big thanks to Marco and his company, Spot Madeira Travel. If you're visiting Madeira, I highly recommend them. Their guides genuinely care. We're so grateful Marco made all the difference.

A magnificent experience with Marco, the guide, who demonstrated professionalism, proximity and exquisite know-how by introducing the west of Madeira and showing that he loves his island and wants everyone who accompanies him to feel at home. A beautiful tour along the west coast of Funchal, through the laurels, Porto Moniz and back to Funchal by wonderful viewpoints.
