知恩寺は天橋立砂州の南の入口に位置する。 仏教の智慧・知性の神である日本三大文殊菩薩像を安置する。 そのため、学生や参拝客が知恵や学業・私生活の成就を祈願して訪れることが多い。 境内の松の木にぶら下がる人が多い扇子をかたどった特別なおみくじ（おみくじ）を購入。 その他、寺院周辺の重要な建造物として、大きな入口門と1500年代の建築で、境内最古の建造物である多宝塔式多宝塔がある。 茶屋通りに面した山門は市の文化財に登録されており、丹後地区最大の山門である。
回転橋で、船舶が水路を通過すると90度回転し、天橋立陸橋と文殊地区を結ぶ変わった橋。 当初の橋は1923年（大正12年）に架けられ、人力で運転されていたが、水路を利用する船舶が増えたため1960年（昭和35年）5月に電気運転に転換された。
天橋立砂州の東側の海岸は、美しい白砂の砂浜が広がる。 ビーチは、深い青色の水と緑豊かな松林と相まって、素晴らしい景色を作り出します。 手付かずの自然が残る天橋立の海岸を散策し、静けさと自然の美しさを体感してください。

This was indeed a once in a lifetime experience. Not something you would even consider or know about if not for the tour. It’s always great to see and experience something other than the big city. This tour certainly fit the bill. Cruise was an outstanding tour guide sharing his knowledge and expertise along the way to ensure we were well informed. Would definitely recommend this tour if you’re looking to get away from the city and crowds.
This was an enjoyable day trip from Kyoto. Our tour guide Yuna was friendly and helpful with clear instructions and we never felt rushed.
Yuna was a delight as a tour guide. She was very informative, clear with the info and gave us a wonderful insight into the two towns visited.
Tour guide Peggie is very knowledgeable about the areas we visited. She explained everything in English and Chinese through speech and text, and if you know translation on the fly is one of the most difficult skills to master and she did it perfectly. Amanohashidate and Ine Funaya are gorgeous…make sure your phone is charged because you will be taking plenty of pictures and videos. Tour provided ample time in both places, even if you need to purchase food and drink. I highly recommend it.

The day we did the tour with Laura the weather wasn't great but she handled everything wonderfully. She went to great lengths to ensure we had the best experience. Everything we got to see and do was fantastic.
Mika, our tour guide, made expectations very clear about our tour coming from Osaka, especially since it was a national holiday in Japan in September. She discussed the importance of being on time from everyone so that we all can make it in and out of each of the destinations timely. That made the experience better throughout the trip. It’s nice to support the local businesses, fisheries, and farms there and the waters around this area are crystal clean and clear, no pollution or plastics, which was really amazing to see. It’s very peaceful in these destinations and this tour gives you a taste of what seaside country is like in Japan. This is a chartered bus tour and although you spend a lot of time on the bus ride, it is a very scenic view (and also very easy to sleep through). Just use the restrooms as often as you should. On this tour, Mika shared a hidden shrine in the Ine fishing village that rises into the hills and it has a secret photo spot overlooking the seaside wooden village homes in the ocean with NO crowd.
