This was a wonderful tour! The scenery by the coast was very different from the highlands but just as amazing. The castles and towns were amazing. It was a lot of fun learning how to fly a broomstick at Alnwick castle. Colin was a lot of fun and we got to know each other because it was a small tour group. He gave us some extra time at the stops and he walked along with us to several of the stops. We really like this tour company for their personal care. My husband had left his cap on the previous day’s tour of the Glenfinnan viaduct, which was also great and the staff took the time to look for and find the cap. Colin even brought the cap to our hotel on his personal time after the tour. Thanks for providing the warm Scottish hospitality!

The selection of locations, the route, and the Hairy Coo company that ran it are all first rate. Everything about this experience makes we want to do it again - as long as Colin is our tour guide again! Top bloke.

We had a brilliant day out. Loved Holy Island & Alnwick Castle was very impressive. Our driver & guide, William, was very knowledgeable & entertaining. Would definitely recommend this tour & the Hairy Coo Company. Check out the back of the bus & you’ll understand why so many cars are honking :)

This was the 4th tour my husband and I took while traveling England, Scotland, and Ireland. Easily the least impressive. The “tour” is really just a driver with little to no historical knowledge to share. The van was cramped (back row unable to recline seats and little leg room). The locations visited were great, especially Bamborough Castle for which we had 45 minutes to see, which is just enough time to see the exterior from the beach (stunning). Two and half hours for Alnwick Castle (very cool) and 40 minutes for Holy Island/Lindisfarne. One can see either the abby ruins or the castle on Holy Island in 40 minutes. My husband and I are fit and ready for adventure, and still we could not see both. Although the stops were amazing, we were extremely unimpressed with the “guide” part of the tour. I would pass on this company (Hairy Coo) as a “tour” operator.

The stop a Bamburg castle was a waste of effort. The tour company only allows 30 minutes to tour the castle. The castle personal informed us the castle takes a minimum of 1 to 2 hours. They recommended we not waste the money on the entrance fee. Hairy Coo tour company needs to either remove this castle from the tour or shorten the time at Alnwick Castle by 1 hour to allow time for Bamburg.

The tour was amazing. The tour guide B dog had great banter and kept us entertained throughout the trip.

I feel like our guide, B-dog was very entertaining and informative. He was also a great driver, and incredibly serviceminded. Overall the tour was tip top!
