Our tour guide Kunihiko-san was excellent! He was waiting for us at the train station with our driver when we arrived and he planned and executed a perfect day of seeing the sites in and around amazing Nagano. We appreciated his knowledge of Japanese history, culture, and natural wonders and his ability to explain things in interesting ways. His flexibility in planning the day based on the likelihood of seeing snow monkeys and avoiding crowds made the day so much better. He kindly helped us get back to the train and the right platform in time for the return to Tokyo. We highly recommend this tour. Nagano is a beautiful area with so many unique and interesting things to see and learn about. You will see more, understand more and appreciate it more if you book this tour with Kunihiko-san.

Had an amazing day with Hori as our guide! Got to see snow monkeys, Shibu onsen (lunch and foot bath), Obuse, Zenko-ji temple, and cherry blossoms! Japan Awaits will contact you after booking and help customize the day. For us, we knew we would be fast at temples and didn’t need to go to an onsen but still wanted to see the onsen town so they were able to customize for us. Hori provided information and background on everything and did a great job keeping us on time so we can fit in everything we wanted to see and still make it onto our Shinkansen back to Tokyo at our scheduled time. He was very accommodating! I also highly recommend getting the private car- it’s pricey but allows you to fit in more!

Hori was the best tour guide! He is very knowledgeable and made sure we were well taken care of and informed about everything we were seeing! He also did a great job of managing our time and making sure we had time to see everything we wanted while not rushing us! We highly recommend seeing Nagano and the Snow Monkeys with him! Took the private full day Nagano tour with private car and it was great experience. Our tour guide Hiro was very knowledgeable and very accommodating. He helped make some changes for us on the fly so we could maximize our tour. We started at Zenko-ji temple and learned a lot about the history. Then went to see the snow monkeys and we saw a lot of them. It was one of my bucket list for Japan and it didn’t disappoint. I really enjoyed seeing them in person as I had seen them on TV. We ended our tour in Nagano city and Hiro helped arrange a reservation for us for dinner. I really enjoyed Nagano city, it had all the charm of a traditional Japanese tour destination without the huge crowds. I would highly recommend taking this tour and don’t skip out on the sake tasting in Obuse as well.

It was a private tour with a great guide. Hori knew a lot about the region as well as the snow monkeys. Managed some great photos and then had an interesting walk around Obuse before a Sake tasting session. Worth the cost of the private guide as we were also interested in learning about the Nagano Prefecture and Hori was able to do this for us.

Our tour guide was Hori and he was absolutely fantastic! His knowledge of the area and history behind everything was great. Our experience was so much fun. The hike was icy when we went in March so I definitely recommend having good traction shoes or spikes to go up and down the path. It is well worth the walk to see the monkeys in their natural habitat. The Zenko-ji temple was beautiful and wonderful to walk around.

We had an amazing experience on this tour. Hori, our tour guide, took us to the snow monkey park, lunch, and Obuse. He was knowledgeable and friendly. Having someone guide you that is knowledge of the area and spoke Japanese allowed us to better focus on the experience.
