バコンの独自性はクメール帝国最初の寺院山としての地位にあり、アンコール・ワットのような後の建造物の原型となった。 5段の砂岩のピラミッド、堀と囲い壁を持つメル山の象徴的表現、クメール建築におけるナーガの回廊の最も初期の例で注目に値する。 また、下段に象やライオンの石造守護像が保存されているのが特徴的である。 水上集落は、家や学校、商店など、水の上に築かれた集落全体のインフラであり、季節によって変化する水位に合わせて集落全体が動き、その構造に適応している。 これには、主に2種類の構造物 、すなわち水に直接浮く構造物と、乾季に地上から高くそびえる竹馬の上に建てられる構造物が含まれる。

ローレイは、カンボジアのアンコールにある 9 世紀後半の 3 つのヒンズー教寺院のロルオス グループの最北端の寺院であり、他のメンバーはプレア コとバコンです。
プレア コは、カンボジアのアンコールにある主要な寺院群の南東約 15 キロにある古代都市ハリハララヤに建設された最初の寺院でした。
バコンは、カンボジアの現代のシェムリアップ近くのアンコールで、クメール帝国の支配者によって建設された砂岩の最初のクメール寺院の山です。この寺院は、インドラヴァルマン 1 世によって 881 年に建てられました。
寺院ツアーを終えた地元の人や海外からの観光客にとって最も人気のある観光は、水上村を訪れることです。トンレサップ湖は、カンボジアの 5 つの州にまたがる東南アジア最大の湖です。トンレサップ湖周辺の住民のほとんどは漁師であり、乾季には農業も行っています。カンボジアの水上村はベトナム、タイ、ミャンマーとは異なり、カンボジアでは高い柱の上に地面から高く建てられています。

We really enjoyed today’s tour. It is more important to us to see how the people in the country really live. We visited a school for grade school children that were learning English. To get to this village we took a boat ride along the river and saw the lives of those who live along the waterways. It will open your mind to the way the people live and the drastic need for education.

Mr. K. Was charming and insightful on the history of Siem Riep and the Various Temples. It was hard to see the apparent difficult life of the floating village people but they seemed happy themselves. We were unlucky in that the weather wasn’t great on Tonle Sap lake but it’s probably lovely on a sunny day! Well done Mr. K. And good luck with your guiding for the future.
