The tour was fun and enjoyable. Our guide was great.
We booked this tour as the last excursion of our trip and it was the perfect way to enjoy the beautiful views of Belize! I was hesitant to book due to the low amount of reviews, but it ended up being one of our favorite days! We were the only two in our group which allowed us to explore all 3 sites at our own pace, we simply let our (extremely patient) driver know when we were ready to move on. The road was closed to the cave during our visit (due to the rain) which gave us the opportunity to have an easy 20 minute hike through the forest. After exploring the cave we headed to the pools for a relaxing swim! This was my favorite spot as there were so many different pools to choose from. Even with quite a few people there, you had plenty of space to yourself! After a delicious picnic lunch, we headed to the waterfall where our guide told us where we could jump off a big rock (if you’re brave enough!!) Just don’t forget to pack a towel for the drive home! Definitely recommend this tour if you’re looking for a relaxing day in beautiful Belize!!
We had a great trip to Mountain Pine Ridge with Edgar. It is a chilled out day, where you go to a big cave, before going on to natural pools for a swim, followed by a truly delicious lunch and then thr Big Rock Waterfall. Edgar was super helpful, giving us lots of information and background, as well as safety conscious. Would definitely recommend 👌
We booked this experience last minute after a different guide recommended a trip to Big Rock Falls. So glad we did as this day was a highlight of our 10 days in Belize. George, our guide was so informative and because rain was expected, he took us to the the Falls first. This is not a part of the trip that someone could do who has trouble with steps, but it was very worth it. We then headed off to Rio Frio Cave which took my breath away. It felt very special to me. Again, it was a hike from the parking area, but on very flat ground, until we reached the cave. George shared a lot of information about the plants along the way, and we learned quite about how the Mayan's used the resources around them. I almost hate to recommend this trip, because I don't want it to become too popular. It was relatively quiet the day we were there and that made it even more special. We then headed to the pools, though by this time it was really raining. We had a wonderful lunch - some of the best chicken I ate while in Belize - at the picnic shelter above the pools/falls. Just a huge amount of food. The shelter overlooked the falls/pools and they were beautiful, but because of the rain we chose not to go close and swim.
On our second day in Belize, my husband and I took an unforgettable tour through Mountain Pine Ridge with George as our guide—and it ended up being one of the highlights of our entire trip. Yes, the tour involved a good amount of driving, but George made every mile fly by. He filled the ride with fascinating stories and facts about Belize’s history, culture, landscape, and wildlife. His passion and knowledge made the experience so much richer than we expected. Our first stop was the stunning Rio Frio Cave, and wow—it was absolutely magical. A river flows right through the cave, and the sheer size and natural beauty of the place were breathtaking. George shared insights about the unique flora and fauna of the area and was kind enough to take plenty of photos of us so we could hold onto those memories forever. Next, we drove deeper into the Mountain Pine Ridge. As we passed through the lush forest, George pointed out all sorts of interesting details about the pines and the ecosystem there. Eventually, we stopped for a delicious Belizean lunch—stewed chicken, rice and beans, fried plantains, coleslaw, and a generous splash of rum punch. It was the perfect mid-day treat, and he set it up beautifully for us in a scenic spot. After lunch, we cooled off with a swim in the Rio On Pools. The natural pools and cascading waterfalls were like our own private jungle spa. We relaxed there for over an hour while George packed up lunch and let us enjoy the moment. From there, we headed to Big Rock Falls—an enormous, thundering waterfall with crystal-clear water and cliffs to jump from if you’re feeling adventurous. We swam, laughed, and even made a few new friends while enjoying this unforgettable spot. By the end of the day, we were blissfully tired and full of gratitude. George drove us back to our hotel safely, and we couldn’t stop talking about how perfect the day had been. His kindness, knowledge, and easygoing nature made this adventure truly special. If you’re exploring Belize and have the chance to tour with George—don’t hesitate. This day will stay with us forever.
The MPR tour with BCE was excellent. Gave us the right info, picked us up on time, very friendly driver and guide, took us to different spots (rio frio caves, rio pools, big rock waterfalls) providing lots of information and answering questions followed by a sumptuous lunch. We had lots of time at each location. Very happy with the overall experience, no surprises and exceeded expectations
