ツアーは早朝にエル カラファテから始まります。アルヘンティーノ湖に沿ってラ・レオナ川まで続く、伝説の国道 40 号線を走ります。同じ名前の峡谷「カニャドン・ラ・レオナ」を通過し、1時間15分のドライブの後、国道40号線の博物館のような古代ルートホテル「ラ・レオナ」に少し立ち寄ります。 私たちの旅はビエドマ湖に沿って続き、そこからは氷河、隠れた湖、そしてフィッツロイ山の圧倒的な存在感の魔法のような景色を眺めることができます。 チャルテンに到着した後、デシエルト湖まで進み、ブエルタス川に隣接するルートを進み、レンガスとニレスの森の奥深くに入ります。この道は 1 時間のドライブで終わり、北へ 37 km 進むとデシエルト湖に到着します。プンタ スール桟橋からボートで 20 分、ヴェスピニャーニ自然保護区まで行きます。そこから 3 つのガイドなしの小道を通って、ヴェスピニャーニ氷河の最高の展望台とフィッツ ロイ山の北面へ向かいます。

Great tour to visit the area just north of Glaciers National Park. Transfer from El Calafate to El Cheltan in a large van/bus. Our guide, Sandra, gave details of the region, flora and fauna, geology and glaciation. Brief visit to El Chalten then transfer to a van for a 45 minutes drive on a gravel road. Stop for a short hike to a beautiful waterfall. Once arriving at Lago Desierto time for a brief hike on the trails by the boat dock. 20-30 minute cruise on the lake to the main hiking trailhead. Multiple glaciers are visible. If conditions permit you will see the Fitz Roy peak (300+ days a year shrouded in clouds). At the trailhead an orientation is given (in English and Spanish) regarding the hiking trails, views, and time requirements. Amazing hike through the forest. Several viewpoints of the glacier. Some trails are very steep. Trails are well marked. Beverages and cookies are served at the end of the hike. After transfer back on the boat. Then back on the van for the same gravel Road. In El Chalten transfer back to El Calafate in a larger van/bus.
We listened to the very out of place and contemptuous comments that our guide Sandra made regarding people. For example saying "those old people" for older people who were waiting outside the transport. When combining different excursions, the explanations of where each group would go and where to meet again were not clear.
