A magical tour I totally enjoyed and the guide Paul is an excellent guide, made us very nice the trip and still without speaking Spanish with the translator we understood each other wonderfully
1st Alaska was easy to work with, always on time and very accomodating. Our guide, Daniel, was amazing. Very personable and knowledgeable about Alaska, the northern lights and dog mushing. It is hard to believe this is his 1st year as a guide. He told great stories and did an amazing job of taking care of and encouraging a large group of people. He made everyone feel comfortable and welcome. By chance, we had Daniel as a guide for all three of our 1st Alaska adventures and we are so glad we did. Thank you for helping to make our time in Alaska even more enjoyable.
It was incredible riding the sled through the forest. The dogs were all super sweet and it was great meeting them before we set off. George picked us up at the hotel and told us lots of interesting facts about Fairbanks on the way to the sledding point, he was very nice and knowledgable. Ash and Daniel were the ones who took us out on the sleds and they were both very personable and made it an amazing experience! Highly recommend, the kids were 6 and 7 years old and they loved it!
What an unexpected fantastic experience! We are seniors (ages 69 and 74). Brought our elderly aunt who is 88 years old. We saw the Aurora Borealis twice and didn’t think we could ask for more. Wrong! The dog sledding was the best part of our trip. We almost passed because it was so cold and we thought the sleds might jostle our old bones too much. We wisely decided to go for it and now keep patting ourselves on the back for making such a good call to participate. Our driver, Tanner picked us up from the Lodge and as a native Alaskan, enlightened us with hometown tidbits about Fairbanks. He was very personable and informative. Our musher was Daniel who was luckily our guide from our Northern Lights tour the night before. You can tell he really loves his job - very passionate about the dogs and the sport. One of the perks of the tour is playing with the dogs - they love people and are so happy and yappy - they are all vying for your attention for hugging and loving. The best part of the sledding is the exhilarating feeling you get from the speed, the cold and being out in nature. There is speed, but Daniel is very skilled at controlling the dogs. He narrates so well that I, the one in the Fri t seat could easily hear everything even I was so bundled up. Caveat - your hands get really cold even with ski gloves. Get those hand warmers and insert into your gloves. The blanket provided keeps you pretty warm. You may want to double up on your socks. Definitely recommend face coverings, gaiters or balaclavas are really valuable. Wear sun glasses as the snow is blinding. The hot chocolate when we got back to the yurt was so welcoming and comforting. Highly recommend this excursion.
This was an awesome adventure! Everyone should experience this hard stop! The people were great, the dogs were amazing and the experience was off the charts!
Amazing experience. The dogs were so friendly. Our tour guide George was amazing. Would definitely recommend!!
The driver for this event, George, was an educator, and very informative. That was great! Meeting the dogs and mushers was incredible. Our musher, Dan was so caring and friendly, and drove our sled well. We had met him by chance the night before while on a tour to Chena Hot Springs. I think he made sure he was our musher! It was a cold but sunny afternoon. Lovely ride!
Tanner was great driver. Safe on road and very knowledgeable. Robert the musher was very skilled and taught us much about the dogs and all the skills needed The ride was smooth and fun. Top notch outfit.
Our guide/driver, Tanner, and, our musher, Ash, were absolutely wonderful. Very informative with good information, very much in tuned to safety awareness. The dogs were a delight and very well trained - the trails and scenery were spectacular!
This was a great experience first, we got a ride from our hotel to the yurt where we could leave our belongings then we had areally fun dog sledding excursion before the dog sledding, we actually got to go interact with all of the dogs and they were really sweet and fun Then after the dog sledding, we had a wonderful dinner back at the yurt and then we viewed the northern lights we were able to view the northern lights through the big your windows, but we could also go outside to take better pictures.
