This is a must if you are in Corks. The trip was amazing with a wonderful driver/tour guide. Connor made the day eventful.
It is going to be a long day, but full of history and legends and beautiful views. Bring a rain jacket and a charger.
Great value for money- particularly if you want a whistle stop tour of the ring of Kerry to plan for a longer trip in the future ( as I plan to). Excellent route with stunning views despite the clouds! I’d like to give a big shout out to Connor, our driver and guide. He gave us so much background, history, anecdotes and stories on the way. A worthy 11 hours spent and a great craic! Will spread the word and will be back. 🤩 Thanks again Tim, London
It is a great experience and provided numerous stops for photo opportunities and restroom breaks. Our driver TJ was phenomenal and a very experienced driver in sometimes challenging road conditions (we encountered a bicycle race which brought traffic to a complete stop at times).
Conor was a fun and attentive guide as well as an excellent driver. He made sure everyone understood where to be and at what time, even willing to share his cell number with us in case we got lost. The sights were amazing, and while it was a very long day ( we returned at 7:30 pm- largely due to traffic), it was an excellent adventure. Highly recommend this tour especially if you are normally a right-side of the road driver- lots of very narrow lanes and curves!
This was a fantastic trip! Connor was an awesome bus driver / tour guide. He was informative and entertaining. We added the jaunting trip (horse and buggy) through the park at the Killarney stop - something I typically avoid thinking those things are cheesy - but I highly recommend that too as it was a lovely little side trip. The views throughout the whole drive were great. Definitely recommend this.
This is a great way to experience Killarney National Park and the Ring of Kerry. Our guide shared insights and history of the area as we traveled to each stop. It is worth while, but be prepared for a long day.
I chose to take this tour instead of driving myself around because I wanted that tour guide interaction - a bit of history, a bit of local flavour and story. We started out at 8:30 on a Sunday and unfortunately the weather was miserable! Worth looking ahead to make sure you’ve got the best chance for good views. The first stop was Killarney town centre for an hour, but it being Sunday…nothing was open. There was an option to do a jaunting (pony-cart) experience here, but that isn’t my thing so I just walked around the empty closed town in the rain for about 40 mins. I think this part of the tour would be so easy to adjust as they have to know when things open on weekends and bank holidays. The rest of the stops were all beautiful and showed off some really lovely spots around the Ring of Kerry. I will definitely take myself back there someday so I can really take my time. Hot tip - sit on the right side of the bus for the coastal views. The stop for lunch drops tourists outside The Lobster, a cafeteria style pub. If you get dropped off at the same time as another tour bus, I highly recommend running away from the absolute chaos of lining up for a plate and instead having a nice quiet bite at Fishermans up the road. The folks there were wonderful. As for the tour guide part…unfortunately this was the bummer. Our guide was LOVELY and a very skilled driver, but his Croatian accent was very hard for me to understand. I got the gist now and again, but mostly I couldn’t make any sense of the longer commentary, especially around Kerry’s history, which I had been really looking forward to. It would have been really helpful to have this delivered by a recording maybe, especially if English is the guide’s second language. (It’s totally possible that I would struggle just as much with a local Cork accent, to be fair!) Overall I had a lovely day and glad I did it.
It was OK. Honestly, would not repeat this tour. Viator requires one hundred characters so here are some more….
We travelled with Paddywagon who I love, and the very pleasant Joe. The trip was very enjoyable and , we stopped for a great lunch and visited many interesting places, shame about the weather but we had a great time
