Do this tour! Dave, our driver and guide, was fun and knowledgeable (and a good driver). Being with the tour company got us in a bit early and parking super close, plus the car was posh. The gardens in mid June were beautiful and fragrant. Like indescribable level beautiful. It rained briefly, but that just made it seem more lush. The castle isn't huge, but lovingly maintained and it had a portraiture exhibit I had come 4,400 miles to see. Dave told us all the stories, explained all the details, and was a huge asset to the visit. I booked directly, as Viator would only book pickup in central London and we were in Whitechapel. Had minor email issues, but the staff was good about follow up and getting that sorted. Strongly and enthusiastically recommend this excursion!

My friend booked this for us -- and I' so glad she did. The guide & driver, David, was an amazing driver and guide! Safest, most delightful car ride we had the whole 2-week trip! He also knew quite a bit about Hever. And, he was happy to take some photos for us -- he even indulged us in our playfulness/silliness. What an absolutely delightful day we had learning about the history of Hever, taking in the Anne Boleyn exhibit (Capturing a Queen: The Image of Anne Boleyn), playing in the hedge and water mazes, walking the gardens, and taking all sorts of fun photos!
