Really fun and interesting day in the Basque Country! We were driven to the very old Cider farmhouse for a tour and then to a visit to a modern day Cider House where we were given a tour of the orchard by the owner and given samples of the different ciders straight from the barrels. We were then treated to a delicious lunch with cider tastings throughout the meal. Our guide was so much fun and great company. As a native she was able to answer all our many questions about the region. The scenery was also breathtaking. Loved every minute!

Elmo, our guide, was wonderful. He made the tour truly special. His knowledge about the important role the production of Spanish cider made to the Basque County was impressive. The tour was highly informative, tasty and super fun! It was a “must do” for any visit to Donostia/San Sebastián.

Amazing tour, starting on drive into the beautiful hills, all while our guide provided history of the Basque, including personal stories of her family during the Spanish Civil War. The Basque farm house & barn with working cider press/operations is from the 1500. The site is like a national history site with guided tour 60-75 minutes....and very captivating and interesting. Next went to a locale cider producers /brewery for tasting, followed by a full 6 course meal that was fresh, delicious and ample. Each item is cooked fresh and brought to your table in courses....NOT steam tabled food. You get the choice of 2 ciders to pour as much or little as you like, multiple times. This was a full meal - soup, cod/mushroom omelet, Cod (4 oz portions), fresh green salad, 16 oz steak cooked to perfection to share and cheese & walnuts

This tour was phenomenal. We were met by Miellen (pardon me if I didn’t get the spelling quite right) in a comfortable van. As we drove to the first location, M introduced herself and explained the plan for the day. We learned much about the agricultural culture in the Basque region, a little about the family who works at the cider house, and shared about our own experiences with Basque culture in our own country. First we visited a 15th century cider house that is now a historic museum. The house IS the mill! Then we went to a cider house for lunch and a cider tasting. We were shown how to pour our own cider out of the huge taps. The lunch was incredible. Tasty chilled Newfoundland style cod soup, a cod omelette, grilled cod with leeks, a salad. Then a huge T-bone steak—perfectly seasoned and rare. This was followed by s cheese plate. My husband snd I actually ate the whole thing—much to our servers amazement! The whole tour was such a treat. Not at all what we expected. Don’t miss this opportunity!

An absolutely fantastic trip which we thoroughly enjoyed. Our tour guide was amazing and explained everything in so much detail. To see the farmhouse with so much history and imagine how it was so many years ago was truly amazing. A wonderful experience shared with an extremely friendly group. The meal itself was excellent and the staff were very obliging, pouring the cider was great fun. Outstanding trip.
