The guide was great - prompt and knowledgeable. We suggest caution when going to the cinnamon centre near Galle as their prices are very high and we felt we paid too much for the cinnamon products and gems. We only found out when we returned to Colombo. We feel good business is when everyone wins and on this occasion we lost and they made a handsome profit. We should have done our homework so the blame is on us. Sad that we live in such a world where tourists are seen as game. But the turtle farm was great and my friend enjoyed the stilt fishing experience.

This is a "see many places but only briefly" experience. But that was exactly what I wanted for this day. After having been to Colombo so many times, I wanted to see the coast down to the south. Galle is well worth seeing and it is worth spending a week's vacation there. On the way, we then took a river safari on the Madura River. Truly impressive landscape and a nice boat guide. The cinnamon from the plantation is already in use. A lot of good work for the animals is being done at the turtle sanctuary. Truly worth seeing and supporting. We stopped at a restaurant right by the sea. The sound of the waves, the ocean view (and the heavy rain shower) with the very good fish was a nice way to round off the trip. The driver was very nice and safe. A recommended experience.
