As someone who loves wildlife, I was enthralled by the trips up and down the river at different times of day. Murray knows where the different animals hang out, we saw crocodiles in and out of the water, shining flycatcher, dotterel chicks and the weird camouflaged Papuan frogmouth amongst others. The views of the rainforest covered hills from the boat and the quiet glides up the creeks were superb. Thank you Murray for your knowledge and calm delivery , this was the highlight of my trip to the Daintree.

wonderful excursion, in total solitude, along the Daintree River. We saw many types of birds and 3 crocodiles while they were swimming. The explanations were precise and punctual. If you are animal lovers we absolutely recommend you book with him!

Highly recommended early morning river cruise with Murray the Boatman. Reached all my targets amongst them Great-billed Heron, Papuan Frogmouth, Azure Kingfisher, Satin Flycatchers etc. with a few huge crocodiles thrown in as well. 6.30 am cruise gave enough light for the early birds and Murray’s incredible knowledge of the waterway’s wild residents was amazing.

Excellent dawn cruise. Saw beautiful birds, the big croc “Captain Hook” plus several other crocs and stunning scenery. No snakes, but that’s the luck of the draw. Owner/operator Murray certainly knows his wildlife!

This is our third tour with Murray as our guide. He knows every bird call and gives precise directions when he spots birds and reptiles. This makes it so easy for us to get the photo!! We did a morning cruise today and it was terrific. Murray's knowledge of birdlife and wildlife, together with his knowledge of the ecology and history of the area was impressive. Even though it was overcast and rainy we managed to see 16 different species of birds, as well as a couple of crocodiles and a beautiful tree snake. Murray's ability as a "spotter" was first-rate. Thoroughly recommend.

Outstanding experience. Did both Sunrise and Sunset cruises - they were different but both were top notch. Cannot recommend more highly. Murray was very informative and found a good amount of wildlife to see and photograph.

This was our second trip with the Daintree Boatman as my wife and I both loved the first one so much. Although it was intermittently raining, we still had a great time. We saw over 20 different species of birds with the highlight for me being the Papuan Frogmouth which we saw in 2 different locations. Even though Murray stopped the boat alongside where each was perched, it took us all some time to find them as their camouflage is so good. Even more surprising was that the first male had a female below and to the side in the same fork of the tree but none of us had spotted her. We also saw crocodiles (swimming & resting) and tree snakes as well as hearing about the trees and the history of industry along the Daintree river. Lots of Kingfishers with the Azure being my favourite. We plan to return for our third trip in about 2 years' time.

I highly recommend this tour. The morning of our tour was a little cloudy and drizzly, not the best weather to see reptiles, and Murray went out of his way to make sure we saw crocodiles and snakes. Murray extended our tour by at least 30 minutes so we could see more animals, once the sun came out. This is a great trip for bird watchers. We saw a crocodile swimming in the river, and it was like being in a wildlife episode. And at the end of the boat tour, Murray told us where to take a short walk to see fruit bats - that was also amazing.

A stunning and informative morning with Murray! Such a beautiful part of our country. I really enjoyed watching the Daintree awaken this morning. Murray is a passionate and enthusiastic tour guide. I highly recommend.
