Wonderful experience, it is truly THE way to discover the Cinque Terre, the views are magnificent, the guide is very interesting, the boat is comfortable, I recommend it without hesitation!
Beautiful tour, one of the most wonderful experiences I had in the Cinque Terre. Seeing all five from the boat is truly something else, and the swimming stop near Corniglia was the icing on the cake. One thing I really liked was the skipper's attention to safety. Before we departed, he gave us a brief briefing explaining where the life jackets were (which were available for anyone who wanted to wear them right away) and showed us how to safely get on and off the boat. They may seem like trivial details, but they made me feel at ease from the very beginning. Throughout the tour, I always felt safe and at the same time enjoyed the sea and the scenery. Highly recommended!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cinque Terre boat tour with skipper Federico - unforgettable! I took the boat tour of Cinque Terre with skipper Federico and I recommend it 100%. Federico is excellent: clear explanations about each village, interesting facts about the coast and the natural park that you won't find in guidebooks. You can tell he loves his job and the sea. The highlight? We stopped to swim in the beautiful coves of the Cinque Terre Natural Park, with crystal-clear water and spots you can't see from land. Postcard landscapes at every turn. Plus, beautiful background music and lots of fun on board. Relaxed atmosphere, zero stress, just laughter. If you are looking for an authentic tour, with a knowledgeable and passionate skipper, Federico is the right choice. We will return!
This was a fun and informative trip along the Cinque Terre coast which included free time ashore. Waters were a bit choppy but our guide navigated the waters with expertise. My sons and I really enjoyed this trip!
Beautiful, but HIGH safety concerns. We got on the boat and weren’t told there weren’t life vests on board until after we were well on the water. The waves were very choppy and the boat was shaking at high speeds. We had two kids with us and the boat was miles out from land. Our bodies are still sore the next day. However, the most concerning part was DEFINITELY the lack of life vests. We were holding on to our kids for dear life. Legitimately were scared that our kids were going to fly overboard with how rocky/bumpy the ride was. My phone got bounced out of my pocket. I don’t know how this company can operate safely. Not even close to worth the risk! That being said, the views were pretty. Honestly, I’m astonished that a refund was not offered. I wouldn’t pay to go on that again and don’t think that I could be paid to do so again without proper safety gear.
Dear Tyler, Thank you for your review We're glad you found the coastline beautiful. We're sorry the sea conditions on the day of your tour weren't what you had hoped for. We do want to clarify the point about safety, as it matters to us and to anyone reading this. Our RIB boats carry full safety equipment on every departure from La Spezia, including 12 life jackets, one for each guest on board. Under Italian maritime regulations for sheltered coastal waters, life jackets are stored below deck rather than handed out before departure, and any guest can ask for one and wear it at any time. The crew is always glad to provide them. They may not have been visible to you, but they were on board throughout your Cinque Terre boat tour. The sea was choppier than usual that day, which is beyond our control, though it stayed within safe operating limits. Our skippers make the decision on the water, based on the real conditions, and a tour does not leave the dock if it cannot run safely. Our excursions take place on powerful 9-meter RIBs, so speed and movement are part of the experience. We know this kind of boat is not the right fit for everyone, particularly on a day when the water is livelier. Families with young children join us regularly throughout the season, and their safety is handled with the same care given to every guest. We're sorry this experience fell short for you, and we appreciate the chance to clarify the safety question. We wish you and your family all the best. Kind regards,
Magnificent discovery and a special thanks to Giovanni for his cheerful company and his amazing playlist!! Roland, Régine, Christine, and Pierre, the French from the back of the boat We recommend this experience 👍👍
The key factor influencing our low rating was the nonchalant attitude to safety. There was no safety brief, no mention or sign of life jackets and although the instructions for boarding the vessel were clear, it was a big step down into the vessel and there was no one on the boat to assist. The first person to board, my partner, misjudged the depth, and fell onto her knees, twisting her ankle. The staff did not make any adjustments or express any concern. Her knee was grazed and her ankle was badly bruised and difficult to walk on. We had a highly skilled skipper and never felt unsafe on the boat but getting on and off was a bit dodgy.
Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We're glad to hear you felt safe throughout the navigation and that you appreciated the skipper's professionalism — that means a lot to us. But we know that a difficult boarding experience can colour the whole day, and for that we're genuinely sorry to hear about your partner's accident while boarding. We sincerely hope she has made a full recovery. On the safety briefing and life jackets: safety of our guest and personnel is indeed our first priority. A boarding procedure briefing is provided before every departure. Life jackets are always present on board — under Italian maritime regulations, wearing them is not compulsory during navigation in standard conditions, but they are available to every guest at any time upon request. This information is shared during the initial briefing. On the boarding minor incident: as soon as we became aware of what had happened, our staff assisted your partner immediately — providing ice for her ankle, checking on her throughout the experience, and directing you to the nearest pharmacy. We're sorry the step down felt unsupported in that moment, and we'll take your observations back to the team. Should you ever find yourself back in La Spezia, we'd be glad to welcome you on board again for a boat trip along the Cinque Terre coast with HopHopBoat. The HopHopBoat team — La Spezia
Our guide spoke English, however, he was difficult to understand. Did enjoy the beautiful views and an hour long visit to Monterosso. Returned promptly at 2 pm when expected. Overall, we enjoyed the experience.
We had planned to do the 4 hour boat tour and they called us less than 12 hours prior to our scheduled tour to tell us they could no longer accommodate us. They did offer to put us on the 2.5 hour tour at the same time or for us to do the tour we booked at a different time. We really were excited about this experience so we opted for the 2.5 hour tour as that was the only time that worked in our schedule. They did give us a partial refund. When it was time to board the boat we noticed that everyone else on the tour was in groups of 2 as well and that since we were last on we werd unable to sit next to each other. They did ask some guest to move so we could atleast sit on the same side in different rows. As this was our honeymoon it really did impact our expirence and was less than ideal as we felt everyone else got to expirence it with their group and we couldnt really do the same. Our tour guide was Nico and he was absolutely fabulous making our expirence a little better. He was very knowledgeable and kind. Without the logistical issues this tour would've hands down been a 5/5 but we unfortunately were the ones to expirence multiple inconveniences.
Jackson, Thank you again for sharing your experience with us, and first of all, we are truly sorry for the inconveniences you encountered. Regarding the short notice for the change to your original 4-hour tour, unfortunately sea and wind conditions in certain areas can be unpredictable and cannot always be assessed well in advance. For safety reasons, we sometimes need to make last-minute adjustments and propose alternative solutions. These are always optional, and in case they are not suitable, a full refund is of course guaranteed. We really appreciate your flexibility in accepting the 2.5-hour tour with a partial refund in return. That said, we are especially sorry about the seating arrangement onboard. Our boats accommodate up to 12 guests, with different seating rows both behind and in front of the Captain, and additional space on the side tubes. Guests are always welcome to let our staff know if they wish to sit together, and we do our best to accommodate this. However, when all guests are traveling in pairs- as in your case- it can occasionally result in one couple being split. That being said, this should have been handled with greater care, particularly considering that your experience had already been modified shortly before departure. Our team should have made sure there were no further disruptions for you, and we sincerely apologize that this was not the case. We’re very happy to hear that Niccolò made a positive difference during the tour, he will be truly pleased to read your kind words. Thank you again for your feedback, it is extremely valuable to us and helps us improve. We truly hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future and provide the seamless 5/5 experience you were expecting. Warm regards
A beautiful day at sea , but disappointed by the villages that have lost their authenticity to become a tourist factory ... However, the scenery seen from the sea is superb , to do only for the day at sea .prefer the boat rather than the train .
Ciao! Nous pensons nous aussi que le meilleur point de vue pour admirer les Cinque Terre est la mer. Rester authentiques est en effet l'une de nos missions!
