A very thorough description of the cause of the eruption of Pompeii and the destruction that followed. All key areas viewed and function of the areas. Enzo did a fabulous job throughout the tour, ensuring all participants were safe and well informed!
The tour operator cancelled our trip on the Sunday only once I had messaged to find out where our transfer was. They made no attempt to contact me before. Which then messed up further plans. The moved the trip to the following day but at a later time (which I did not want in the heat of the day). Very frustrating when I had booked the trip weeks in advance. Guide was knowledgeable around Pompeii

They also explain that if the minimum is not reached, the departure may be cancelled and guests will be offered an alternative or a full refund. Unfortunately, booking weeks in advance cannot guarantee that the required number of participants will ultimately be reached. What we can do is everything possible to find a solution when it is not. Rather than simply cancelling your experience, we offered you an alternative departure the following day, allowing you to visit Pompeii and enjoy the complete experience with an expert archaeologist. We were particularly concerned to read that “they made no attempt to contact me before,” because our communication records show multiple attempts to reach you through all available channels before, during and after the situation. Unfortunately, there appears to have been an issue with messages reaching you. We completely understand how frustrating that must have been from your perspective, but the absence of received messages was not the absence of attempts to contact you. We also understand that the alternative time was not your preferred one, particularly during the summer heat. It was offered because it was the available solution that allowed us to save your Pompeii experience rather than simply cancel it. And ultimately, that is exactly what happened: you visited Pompeii and, as you kindly acknowledged, your archaeologist was knowledgeable. For us, that is an important part of hospitality. When a shared departure cannot operate, cancelling and refunding is easy. Whenever possible, we prefer to search for an alternative and give our guests the opportunity to enjoy the experience they came to Italy for. We are sorry that the communication difficulties affected your experience, but we are very pleased that our efforts ultimately allowed you to discover Pompeii with one of our expert archaeologists. Andrea, our guide, met up with 14 of us and shared the history of Pompeii as we were driven from central Sorrento to Pompeii. He was actively engaged with our multigenerational group ranging in age from 7 to 78! Due to the extreme summer heat, Andrea sought places with shade to share the stories of each location. Having a single-side earpiece made it easy to listen to him as we walked the archeological grounds. Visiting early in the day is wise during a summer tour.
Our guide, Roberta was great. She was very informative and pleasant. Both drivers were professional and prompt.
