Our guide was not the best. His explanation for points of interest during our ride from Porto was first in French and by the time he would go to the English version, the item he pointed out was long gone. Then, for our first stop, his French speech was approx 10 minutes uses long. The lucky French tourists got to go and explore while the English group had to stay for our version. The church in Braga has tonnes of stairs but we only had 30 minutes to explore. The next stop was in Guimarães to the oldest church in Portugal. Again, his explanation was first in French and was approx 15 minutes. And again, the French group got to wander around and take pics while the English group got the 15 minute speech. I never got the chance to take pics on my own. I suggested that he should explain one section of the church in French, then English and move on to the next section of the church and do the same. He was so hard to understand to begin with. On the bus, the audio was not the best and again, he was hard to understand but who can hear above the French tourists o he they got their explanation because as soon as he would go to English, the French would start to talk amongst themselves. There were more French than English speaking people on this tour so you can imagine. Please bring water and have a snack before boarding if you're used to early breakfasts. You won't have a chance until you have your free time in Guimarães. Keep in mind Aldo that you are in-land so you won't get the breeze you get when in Porto. 28°c in Porto is cooler than 28°c in Braga or Guimarães. Aside from the tour guide, I lived the old churches and fortresses and the 2 very old, but modern cities.

Castro and Nuno were friendly, thorough and managed to provide an experience that felt both personal and critically relevant to understanding how life has developed in Northern Portugal. Funny too! We had enough time to take in wonder as a group, and also wander a bit on our own. Highly recommend if you’re already in a small group and enjoy the feeling of traveling around with others in a larger crowd - plenty of opportunities to connect with others and get exposed to the living history of Portugal. Some walking, but it was very manageable compared to other tours!
Fantastic experience from start to finish! Castro, our guide, was phenomenal. He was entertaining, knowledgeable and fun to be with. I would, without hesitation recommend his tour. Nono, the bus driver was skilled! He navigated some narrow turns with ease. I felt very comfortable. They are a dynamic duo!!

Very enjoyable day trip from Porto with a knowledgable guide. Simone switched from French to English with ease to keep the multi-language group informed. The Sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte and Braga Cathedral are amazing - if you want considerable dwell time to fully immerse yourself there you’d be better to organise your own visit as they are quite short stops. But as a multi-stop day trip where you’re driven about in an air-conditioned bus and given a good historical introduction, this is a really good value experience.
