Our Pastel de Nata cooking class with Celia was one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal! From the moment we arrived, Celia and her husband welcomed us into their beautiful home like old friends, creating a warm and authentic experience that felt far more personal than a typical cooking class. Celia is an exceptional instructor—patient, knowledgeable, and passionate about sharing Portugal’s most iconic pastry. We loved learning every step of the process, from preparing the dough and custard to baking our own batch of delicious pastéis de nata from scratch. The class was hands-on, engaging, and filled with wonderful stories, laughs, and local insights. The best part was sitting down together to enjoy our freshly baked pastries paired with coffee and Port wine while overlooking the beautiful Algarve surroundings. Every pastel de nata came out perfectly crisp, creamy, and absolutely delicious! As a bonus, we received a digital recipe booklet so we can recreate these amazing pastries at home and relive the memories of this special day. If you’re visiting the Algarve and looking for an authentic Portuguese experience, we cannot recommend this class highly enough. Thank you, Celia and your husband, for your incredible hospitality, generosity, and for sharing a little piece of Portugal with us. We left with new skills, wonderful memories, and a deeper appreciation for Portuguese culture. Muito obrigada!!!

Thoroughly enjoyed the experience with lovely people. Only criticism is that it was advertised with breakfast included. So turned up at 9.30am having not eaten. It was midday before the fruits of our labour were ready to eat. Apart from that would recommend 🙏

If I could give Celia 10 stars I would!! She is a master of her craft. By far the best Pastel de Nata I had and a highlight of our trip. She offered clear step by step instructions and charming stories of the origins of this decadent Portuguese tart. While we waited for the pastry to bake her husband Antonio treated us to a comparative tasting of 20 & 30 year tawny Ports. Absolutely incredible class!! Plus it included the recipe to take home. (I am anxiously awaiting for the tins to arrive so that I can make them for my friends and family.) Thank you so much Celia! ❤️

We had such an amazing time learning how to make Pastel de Natas with Celia in her lovely home. The class was personal, friendly, and very comfortable, it felt like spending time with friends rather than a lesson. Celia was a fantastic teacher, sharing her knowledge with patience and warmth. The experience was very fun and educational and resulted in the best Pastel de Natas I have ever tasted! To top it off, we even got to taste some delicious port from her husband's collection. A truly wonderful and memorable experience, highly recommended!

Fantastic! The course was super interesting, pleasant and cheerful! The pasteis de nata are fabulous! We taste it on site after the preparations, Mimi's husband made us taste succulent Porto! And back home with its fabulous pasteis de nata we revive the whole family! I highly recommend this experience!
