From the outset this looked like a unique perspective on Roma. But that is only just the start. As soon as I booked, I received a friendly message from the company explaining what the tour would mean for me as a solo traveller. Nothing bad, just reassuring me that they’d look after me and that I’d still get to experience both the side car and riding behind the driver. It was a good sign this was going to be a thoughtful and considerate tour. When I got to the easy to find meeting point, I was greeted by name. I watched as they greeted other passengers in a similar way. The director of the tour is one of the few Chinese speaking guides in Roma and a group of Taiwanese were welcomed effusively. If you don’t like being the centre of attention this might not be the tour for you. From the outset, pedestrians along our route ogled and took photos of us lucky few. Our guide told us we were celebrities! As a previous visitor to Roma, I didn’t need to see the main sites such as Trevi Fountain and the colosseum but the morning ride was a perfect time for visiting them and sharing in my fellow tourists joy as well as getting our true Roman guides perspective. I simply can not recommend this experience more highly. It ticks all the boxes, almost irrespective of what your goals as a visitor to Roma are. A tour of the sites, friendly, knowledgeable guides, the chance to be a celebrity for a few hours.

A few years ago, we did a similar sidecar tour in Singapore, so when we discovered that you could do it in Rome, we were thrilled. Because really, what could be more Italian than experiencing the Eternal City on a Vespa — well, technically, in the sidecar of a Vespa! :) We opted for the 3-hour morning tour, and it was simply amazing. In our opinion, this truly is one of the best ways to experience Rome. What we loved right from the beginning is that they actually listen to what you want to see and experience and will customize the route to your interests. They picked us up directly at our hotel. In our case, we had two Vespas with two fantastic drivers, plus a separate guide. We were given headphones, so we could hear our guide perfectly while riding, ask questions along the way, and learn about the city without missing a thing. And you don't just drive around and look at the sights. You stop several times, either for photos, to explore a landmark, or simply to take in the views. And one of the biggest advantages? You sidestep the lines!! We stopped at the Trevi Fountain, where our guide took us right down to the fountain and even took photos of us. We visited the Pantheon, again skipping the lines, and our guide gave us a fascinating explanation of the history and architecture. We also stopped at the Colosseum for photos, along with several other incredible viewpoints around the city. And then there was a coffee break at a cute little restaurant, where we had what may have been the best filled croissants we have ever tasted! This is the coolest way to explore Rome, learn about its history and make some unforgettable memories along the way! Three hours went by far too quickly. The entire experience was incredibly well organized, fun and informative. You get to see so much more of Rome than you ever could on foot, while still having plenty of opportunities to stop, explore and take photos. If you're visiting Rome and want to experience the city in a completely different way, we can only highly recommend a Vespa Sidecar Tour.

Mateo hands down was the best tour guide fo me and Maximo was the safest and thoughtful driver! I had taken the tour by myself but never felt alone. It was so much fun zipping around Rome in a Vespa sidecar. We received so many looks, waves, smiles, and laughter while passing people. It was impressive and I was pleasantly surprised how smooth the tour had gone. I was not expecting entrance to the Trevi fountain photo line and actually going inside the Pantheon. We walked right thru in both places and was given historical insights. We even stopped at a sidewalk cafe and had a table waiting for us to have a cappuccino and cornetto. The guide and drivers took pictures and knew the best spots for photographs all while commenting on the beautiful open aired museum around us. Really made Rome come to life for me🥰

Incredible tour of the city and such a fantastic way to see it. We did our tour with Matteo and he was so knowledgeable, so personable. Really enjoyed our time with him. Definitely recommend seeing the city this way at the beginning of your trip because now we know what all we want to back and spend more time at. The Pantheon was so amazing and really glad we could spend so much time in there. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn about the history of Rome rather than only see it.
