ダウンタウンに戻ると、もう一つの世界遺産でシルクロードのランドマークでもあるパゴダを訪れます。パゴダでは、玄奘僧がインドから持ち込んだ仏典が翻訳され、中国全土に広まりました。 コロンブスが出航する何世紀も前の1300年以上前に建てられたこの建築の驚異は、10回以上の大地震にも耐え抜いたことで有名です。
次に、中国で最も完全な古代城塞である600年前の城壁を散策します。 全長約14キロメートル（8.7マイル）にわたって、歴史と現代がどう出会うのか、見晴らしの良い場所となっています。 自転車のレンタルは自費で壁に貼っています。

Our guide Lily was excellent: she explained the history in great detail and highlighted all the most interesting aspects of the site, making the visit engaging and easy to follow. To see the 8th wonder of the world was an amazing experience. We were grateful for the slightly cooler day 31° than we had in the previous days. Jacky was and excellent Guide with much experience and patience for the very long cues and large numbers of visitors at the site. He was quiet the philosopher and we very much enjoyed his stories and views on life and China.
