The private tour was amazing, allowing us to go at our own pace. Our guide Haffi was very knowledgeable about the area, having been directly affected and displaced by the recent eruptions. We learned a lot about how volcanoes continue to shape the land today.

You can hike this solo but felt the tour guide brought much knowledge and a really cool trick at the top of the volcano hike that I won't spoil. Knowing where/how to talk and where to look at the fissures was probably unique and missed had we done this hike by ourselves.
